Actually the cops in miami and certain citys around south fl have been through a brief understanding of what to do with our kids. Though its so brief that it reminds me of the courses they give on line for medical staff on how to treat demented patients. From all the conferences and all the lectures I have done from CARD or others.  Never did I see a cop or a fireman there. I always saw the people affected by autism. So I guess everyone needs to be affected so they can learn. So sad.

I provide this training for free through my work at the Florida Center for Inclusive Communities at USF www.flfcic.org . We are collaborating with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office in the process of packaging a curriculum that includes as developmental disablities and will provided to any Law enforcement agency for free. I will share the details with you as soon as it's finalized.
