Guest guest
I'd like to get some advice around the enrollment process for our kids - esp if the special needs factor creates a barrier for acceptance. Thanks!
Guest guest
This is just florida's version of Chip or health insurance for kids. Depending on your income, they place you on a plan. If you child has a documented disability they will put you on medicaid (there are 13 disabilities that qualify for medicaid automatically no matter income). We like it; it helps us pay for insurance for our kids. We are on a really affordable plan. My child has PDD, not autism, so she does not qualify for full medicaid based on her disability. I do not think they discriminate or deny based on disabilities. It does limit you a bit depending on who you can see and such, but I have been very happy with my plan and doctors. I am not sure how it covers services needed by severely autistic kids or how doctors work. It is worth applying for. > > I'd like to get some advice around the enrollment process for our kids - esp if the special needs factor creates a barrier for acceptance.
