Guest guest
If it weren't for bad luck I guess I would just about have none at all. Sunday the 28th I had my grandkids over for a couple hours and about 8pm thier mom called and said they had to come home so my friend and I took them home. Coming back we were stopped at a light because the light was RED and there were about 4 cars ahead of us. We were just sitting and talking about her vacation and WHAMMMM!!!! This dang Tahoe slammed into the rear end of my car, knocked my car into the car ahead of us and knocked that car into the one ahead of her. The girl that hit us jumped out and said don't call the police, please, don't call the police, I don't have any license!! Well I could not move because I felt like I was on fire. I was taken to the hospital and kept over night because it sprained my shoulder and strained my neck. I have a big knot on my shoulder and I can not raise my arm above my head. My friend was not hurt just banged up a little. She did not even go to the ER. The doctors said that because of the RA my joints were already swelling. I was in some kind of pain. NOT only did the girl not have license to drive she was driving her parents truck and they did not have insurance!! Today I found out it is gonna cost me $250.00 deductible to get my car fixed. I am so mad. I mean no insurance and no license. Thats crazy. This is like the 3rd time in 18 years we have had accidents with this happeneing. What are we magnets for the illegals?? Anyway my "new" car, after just 2 payments, is not drivable because of the rear end being smashed up. I know it will never be the same and we JUST got the car!! Whats really bad is that the girl had an insurance card so she did not even get ticketed Sorry you had the accident but glad you will bwe alright when the sorness goes away. Don't really know why people think they can get away the things they do. Betty

Guest guest
Pepper, I'm so terribly sorry to hear of your accident. But, praise God, your grandkids weren't in the car. I'll pray that you recover quickly and that your luck turns around to the better. I can't imagine not ticketing the girl for no license and insurance. The insurance system in Texas (and probably elsewhere) is terribly frustrating. It seems to protect those who don't pay the premiums like us honest folks do. But, then again, I could go on and on and on about the "illegals" in Texas and what they get away with. Watching the news of the devastation in the South is horribly depressing. It's going to take a long time for them to recover. And, unfortunately, we will all feel it in our pocketbook. Gas here in Central Texas is already $2.99/gal and sure to go much higher. Guest guest
Yes and the card was good until August the 26th and this was the 28th which you always have a 5 day grace period to get the payment in. So I guess the police officer ASSUMED that the new cards were on the way to the people. I have tried to call the officer twice and he has been off, but, tommorrow I am calling and asking if he can issue a ticket to these people because they for sure do NOT have insurance. I talked to my insurance company today and they assured me that they were going to be taken them all to court and they will be getting judgements against them until the debt is paid. Also the dealership is going to work with me on the dedcutible. It could be worse I could not have a car or a home . Guest guest
You know I was just saying today to the insurance adjustor that I know EVERYONE is prone to make a mistake and even I have came upon a stop sign and not aware it was there and went through it and got sick as heck thinking about the "What ifs" and I know we are all humans and we all make mistakes and what happen to you is awful and it sounds like you had a medical condition, but, this girl had no license, talking on the cell phone and NOT paying attention to her driving, then on top of everything else no insurance. I just can not find sympathy for her. At 20 years of age theres only 2 reason as to why she probably does not have license and thats either she could not pass the test, or, she had them at one time and maybe had them taken away, regardless what the reason is ..no license then no driving. (unless it is an absolute emergency) Thats just irresponisible. I am sure glad no harm came to you and I am glad you are doing ok now. Things like that which happen is through no fault of yours. You had no control over a medical condition. Tahnk God it turned out the way it did. Love Pepper wrote: So sorry to hear about your accident. I have been with State Farm for over 10 years so I have that new protection thing that no fault accidents can not make your insurance policy go up and last but not least.......AT least I have a car that can be fixed and I live here in texas and was not part of that destation that is going on over in Mississippi and Louisianna. So I am counting my blessing instead of my anger. I have 2 cosuins that lived in Slidel and no one has heard from them so keep them in your prayers that they are ok. Thier names are Stella and Blondie. I am so sad over all that is hapening there. It is heartbreaking to watch the devastation there. Keep them all in your prayers. love pepper __________________________________________________
The year my Dad died and 911 happened I had an accident that I rear ended a car with another infront of it and a motorcycle in front of it. I didn't know what had happened I couldn't remember looking away but the next thing I knew these cars were infront of me and not moving, I swevered and clipped the last car and hit a pole well a couple of weeks later I was at my brothers house and he was on the phone to my sister and I don't remember him getting off the phone but the next thing I knew he was at the top of the steps and my sister in law was at the bottom waiting for the ambulance. They said I said why are there two of you. I don't remember , anyway they took me to the hospital and they ran test The Dr thinks I had a mini stroke. Guess that is what happened in the wreck. Looking at the good side If I hadn't come around when I did I probably would have killed two people. So as you say there is good in everything. Our insurance could have cancelled us because we had only been with them for six months. but they didn't - Smart thing on their part so that they could get their money back. Hope your injuries aren't too serious. love ya Pepper wrote: Well I am way behind in my mail. If it weren't for bad luck I guess I would just about have none at all. Guest guest
I tried calling the parents but I found out the number I ahd was a cell number that belonged to the daughter and she said that he rparents did not have phone service because the phone was disconnected. They probably don't even have the money for the deductible. I hold the parents responible to some degree becasue they LET her drive the truck without insurance but the girl is 20 years old and she is also responisible for her actions. She knew she had no license so she should have been a lot more careful and more alert if nothing else simply because she was illegal. Oh trust me I was furious after I got out of the hospital. I first felt thankful that my grandkids were not in the car and they did not get injured, I was thankful my friend did not get injured, I was thankful that I was not injured any more than I was, and I was thankful that the car was not totaled out, then I got angry. Just like you said, my husband and I went from a 2 income family to a one income and our lifestyle has changed drastrically BUT we still have insurance to protect us and to protect anyone that we may cause damge to from our mistakes if and when we do make one. She had an insurance card showing that they had insurance, but, it did show that it was up for renewal on the 26th which here it takes a few days to get your new insurance cards and I guess the officer ASSUMED that the new card had not came in OR that the people had not put the new one in yet. The truth is they had not paid a payment on thier insurance since May!! I am going to call it to the officer's attention tommorrow and see what he says. I feel like IF they did not have insurance then they need a ticket for that also!! Yes I am furious, but, I guess I am just more thankful that angry. lol Love pepper, Clara Gleghorn wrote: Pepper, I would think that girls parents should at least pay your $250 deductible!! Guest guest
I talked today to the girl that my car hit and she said there was no damage to her car except for a dent about as big as her thumb and that she was fine. She said that she felt sorry for me and Amy because we got the blunt hit of it all. The car she hit was actually just "bumped" and there was hardly any notice of that car being hit. The girl was taken tot he police station and the truck was towed and she did get a ticket for no license BUT I want them to be ticketed for no insurance also. I am pursuring that issue. Oh the insurance is definetly going to sue them and also they said they would put a judgement on them to which if they sell anyhting the insurance will be paid first, if they recieve any income tax refunds it will go to the insurance also. The insurance also told me that any money they recieve will come to me to pay my deductible and any other bills I maight occur. Yeah I am just sick about the car. Dang it I have only made 2 payments on it and I am so afraid it is not going to be the same. Now I will have at least a year to drive it before I can even trade it in. Thanks for thinking of me. Guest guest
Thank you deanna, The girl did get a ticket for no license. Yes I am not about to get started on the injustice of the judicial system. I am totally depressed over all those folks in LA losing everything. It could have been us. If a storm like that hits here in Galveston I know Baytown will get a lot of mass destruction. My daughter and I have already sat down and made plans as to what we are doing if that evens becomes a possiblitlity here. I would love to go bring a couple families here to stay with us. We have the room, but, we do not have the funds to feed them. We are going to the Astrodome this weekedend and volunteer for the weekend to help in any way we can. Also theres more than alikely a change will take place in our Fun Day because the Baytown Community center where it is suppose to be held at is filled to the brim with people from the evacaution. There are several temporairly shelters sit up here in Baytown and that community center is one of them. Love Pepper"Glaze, Deanna/Larry" wrote: Pepper, I'm so terribly sorry to hear of your accident. Whats really bad is that the girl had an insurance card so she did not even get ticketed It just occured to me, insurance or not the card has a date on it for expiration, did the officer not read it. Guest guest
I'm sure you have an A + !!!!!!!!!!! Love, Randie Re: CAR ACCIDENT Yes and the card was good until August the 26th and this was the 28th which you always have a 5 day grace period to get the payment in. That is something he should have been aware of as they should be put in the car ahead of time, but then some people have forgetful minds.
