Welcome home Peg! Glad to hear things are going well, you looked

fantastic!!!

Diarrhea...milk products perhaps? Just my $.02??

I AM HOME!!

Importance: High

Dear everyone,

Had my surgery with Dr. Thayer on Monday and I am home today and doing

wonderfully! No incision pain at all, no pain meds needed, walking

fine, energy level high, no complications. They even had me visit with

some of the other bypass patients to reassure them how much better it

gets day by day. Dr. Thayer calls me a horse. I'll take that as a

compliment ;)

The only problem I've been having is diarrhea. 15 times yesterday and 5

times today. I'm hoping that will settle down. I'll tell ya -- the

wooden spoon is my new best friend! I'm trying to drink enough water

that the diarrhea doesn't dehydrate me.

I can get up and down fairly easily from chairs and beds. I'm still

unable to get up from laying flat and I'm sure I will miss that

wonderful electric hospital bed tonight! The nurses were all FAB! I

even got an Italian serenade from a little Italian lady who cleans the

rooms and speaks no English. I am going to send them all a tin of Mrs.

Field's cookies.

Food goes down fine and stays down, no nausea or problems. I just don't

have an interest in it nor do I eat a lot. I certainly never ate more

than 1/4 - 1/2 of what they fed me at mealtimes, even stretching the

eating out over an hour or more. Tonight I had CIB, applesauce, and

some cottage cheese. Boy do you get full fast!

A BIG HUG and thank you to Kim and Dawn for visiting me! It felt sooo

good to be cared about enough that my friends on this list whom I've

never even met came to see me. Thank you to all who send me

encouragement and prayers. I've needed the support of this list greatly

and I appreciate each and everyone of you who has taken the time to

respond.

Dear Peg,

It is soooo great to hear that you are doing so well! Keep

drinking that liquid so you don't dehydrate! :) It was all my pleasure

to visit you in the hospital! I know how much I felt loved to be visited

when I was in the hospital! You looked WONDERFUL! I was so surprised and

pleased to see you doing so well! :)
