My perscription is for 6 weeks of it, so I was thinking about asking for 10 mg pills at the next refill. Is that reasonable. TK--- Yes Also, would 6 weeks of that be pretty reasonable? TK--- reasonable for what ? > > Here is how I understood it: > http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/Andy_dose_sched.html#dosage > > DMPS (alone): 1/4 to 1 mg of DMPS per pound of body weight, per dose (every 8 hours) > So, I am about 140 pounds, so that means I need about 35-140 mg?? Is that right?? TK--- correct > Also, I am doiing it every 6 hours, not every 8, does that mean I need lower doses. TK--- no > > So my question is what kind of doses and increases are reasonable. TK--- anywhere from what you are taking on up to the above dosages for your body weight. Increase the same way you would for ALA or DMSA to tollerance. > > Here is what I did before: I have done a few rounds of verying lengths (3-7 days) of 12.5 DMSA. I dont know, I *thikn* that I felt better on round, with maybe some side effects off round, but when I thought about it more, it seems like maybe not (I wasn't doing chelation for about 2 weeks due to not being able to with other people staying in the same room at night, and noticed the same pattern of feeling really good some days and bad others, so I dont know that it is truly related to chelation.) TK--- forget about the above it doesn't apply - dmsa and dmps are different. > > So, I am not sure what kinds of dose increases are okay. Is it just 5 mgs every time for the DMPS, and if so how many rounds (assuming you dont notice any significant side effects, which I have not TK--- Do it continously or do rounds. As dmps can be used continually dosage depends on how well you do while taking it. If you do a few weeks or several rounds [3-4] at 5mg and are doing fine without side effects, then increase dosage to 10mg and do the same. -- BUT, I want to know what is a SAFE way to do it assuming there may be side effects but I'm just not recognizing them as connected to the chelation.) > > > --------------------------------- > Celebrate Earth Day everyday!
