Thats very interesting. I was told by my PS that with saline you

would know right away if there was a rupture because it would

immedietly go flat since it was water and just be absorbed by the

body. I have been having discomfort with my righ implant for over a

year and have been back to see my original doctor countles times

about it. He keeps saying it may be a little nerve damage and not to

worry about it HOWEVER i ask my husband at least once a week if that

breast looks smaller then the other. I had no idea that it could

take that long before noticing a huge difference. I can not wait to

have these thing out of me. The more i hear the more aggrivated i

get becuase my implanting doctor was not truthful about anything it

appears.

Hello B, I don`t have any idea what happened! I never had problem with my implants. They looked really beautiful. I was in the fitting room when I noticed that something wrong. I`ll have an appointment next week, hopefully I`ll know more then. I hope your friend is going to be ok and never will experience any problem with her implant..Ballerina Breastaug <ballerinabreastaug@...> wrote: I have a friend with saline implants. Yep, I am, but really, I think God makes

our bodies so perfect to begin with, and

it is all this modified food and pesticides

and pasturized junk, toxic pills for everything

you can think of, and implanted devices

of all kinds that make our bodies mal-function.

If we take our bodies and cherish them as

Hi ,

My PS said the same thing. When I asked for removal he said I didn't

need it and that my pain was just a pinched nerve or carpal tunnel

syndrome. So I took his advice and waited and just got worse. Don't

make the same mistake as I. I spent the last three months before

explant asking my husband the same thing... " Is this one smaller than

the other? " He didn't notice a difference as it was subtle, but I

noticed a small one and sure enough my report came back showing a

decrease in both but more so in the one I thought was smaller. Trust

your gut. We know our bodies more than anyone, especially more than

a PS!!! Do you know which brand/type of implant you have? - PH

You have no idea how glad i am to hear you say that that altough im

sorry you had to go through that but its nice to know im not crazy.

My husband thinks i am just obsessed with them but its not the

implants im obbessed with its what could potentially be going on in

my body that is consuming me especially now that i have all this

knowledge from this group. I dont know the technical name of the

implant but i do know the inplants are the adjustable saline filled

by Mentor. I was not sure how big i wanted to go so each vist after

the surgery the PS inserted more saline until we got them where i

wanted them. After about 6 weeks he made a small incision and

removed the valves, from what i understand. Thats what makes this

all so crazy i have things inside of my body and cant even say for

sure what they are. When i founf this site and stared reading about

the potential for mold and bacteria that really freaked me out

becuase we did mees with them for about a month after the surgery by

filling them.

Hi ,

No, you are NOT crazy. Trust your gut. God gave us intuition and it

saves us from harm, so use it.

I haven't heard of the adjustable filled Mentors where they remove

the valves. Interesting...I wonder if Mentor came up with this

because of the problems with their defective valves.

Mine were Mentors as well, smooth, under the muscle. I don't get

it...how and where does he insert the saline? What kind of

anesthetic are you given? When the valves are removed, do you know

what closes the area where the valves were? Hang in there. Love, PH

Ok dont quote me on this but i know i was knocked out when the

implants were put in. they were done in a surgery center and placed

under the muscle. Because i was so back an forth on the size my

doctor offered me the option of adujstable valves. I believe they

were 500.00 extra. They were attached to the implant and were

located towrds the bottom right under the skin (they were hard

plastic you could feel them). i started with 425CC of saline and

each time i went in he would fill a needle and put it into the

valve, it felt like a very light pinch through the skin, and put the

saline in through the needle and valve. I stopped at 475CC. Once we

got the size i wanted i went into his office and he opened a tiny

portion of the incision from the implant surgery and removed the

valves. I think he cut them or something but they were definetly

removed.

Patty,

Thanks for the feedback. I understand that it is very important to have the explant done correctly. I will get a copy of my surgery report. However, before and after the surgery and also at my 1 week follow up my doctor looked me directly in the eye and said she did a total capsulectomy. We also signed a surgery form (both of us) stating a total capsulectomy. My PS has been extremely helpful and ALWAYS available for any of my concerns. That is why I feel very confident in her. She has given me no reason not too. However, I will request the report and maybe that will put my mind at ease a little more.

I also understand the controversy about having surgery done in the hospital or their private surgery suite. I had my option but she urges for the surgery suite. Everything appeared to be clean and they always wore hair caps, gloves, ect...... Also, I know the day of my explant the nurse that tried to do my IV missed the first time - she said she would go get someone else to try and I told her it was ok with me if she wanted to try again. She told me that per my PS's policy - the RN's get one try and if they can not get it they have to get someone else. Her (my PS) idea behind this is not to stress the patient out by sticking them numberous times......

Much Love,

Beth

Much Love,

Beth

this. Im not familiar with medical problems but isnt that deadly if

left untreated. That is horrible!

Beth,

Let us know if you want to add your doctor to our list. If you think

she is good enough and does a proper explant...we need all the

doctors we can get who know how to do this right!
