If you guys haven't read the article yet that Ballerina is referring

to....I HIGHLY recommend reading it. Here is the link

I applaud Glamour magazine for printing this article. I only wish more

magazines would print articles such as this one.

Here is the last line in the article, which really touched me:

" This is the part I think women don’t understand. When a guy falls in

love, his lover’s body parts become bewitching. I’m not going to tell

you that our heads don’t turn when we see a stacked blond walking down

the street. But when we fall for you†" really, really fall for you†" you

hijack our sense of beautiful. What’s sexy to us? You†" in the “beforeâ€

That was my reaction too. It just seemed like a flipped sexism- instead of wanting the boobs to be big by any means necessary, he wants them natural. He's still measuring and judging women against his ideal physical standard-it's just his ideal is natural rather than big.I feel like the pressure he put on the one girl to "get her natural breasts back" was self-serving and insensitive to her emotional needs at such a tenuous time.It just made me sad. I don't feel like women ever put this kind of pressure on men. I wouldn't care if a significant other were no more than a brain inside a jar- in fact, I might prefer it! : ) Re: Re: Glamour magazine, March 2008

I think you guys are looking at the article completely wrong. I think

what the author and the article was trying to get across was

simply " natural (un-plastic) is best. " The author even said about the

last girl that he dated that her breasts were un-even in size, but

that he was much more attracted to her because she was natural.

What ever happened to being glad that men still like women natural

(flaws and all) and that popular magazines are willing to publish

articles about the problem with women feeling like they need to

undergo plastic surgery in order to be beautiful? The article was

purely trying to get across that natural is best and plastic surgery

is unnecessary. Yes, the man may have seemed like he focused a lot on

women's bodies....BUT THAT'S WHAT THE ARTICLE WAS ALL ABOUT! I don't

know how you can write an article on plastic surgery without it

completely focusing on bodies.

Hi Krista,

I would agree with that but he still seemed like a jackass that

ironically was the one that came with the baggage rather then the

women he dated. He wanted to know very personal and private things

from these women on the first date or else they were " liers " . To be

honest i dont think that i would be that open with anyone that i

hardley knew either. I wasent crazy about the guy but i think that

the article was trying to convey that women do not need to get

surgery simply becuase they feel it will make them more attractive.

- I definitely agree that there were parts of the article where

it seemed like the guy thought he was above plastic surgery, was

better then chicks that get plastic surgery and deserved to have a

100% all natural woman that was born gorgeous. He did at times make

me think he had the problem, not all the women getting the surgery.

But, I also like that the guy was willing to speak up and say " enough

with the plastic surgery, not all guys like or want girls to get it. "

I also like how at the end he pointed out that when I guy falls in

love, really falls in love that he stops seeing the flaws and

everything about you is beautiful (flaws and all.) I know for a fact

this is how my husband sees me. I have lots of flaws but he still

thinks I'm beautiful because he loves me so much.

I guess I am just happy to see that Glamour even addressed this issue

at all, even if the guy wasn't the best avenue to get their point

across, they still addressed the issue and I was just glad to see

that. Face it, we as women are much more likely to listen to a man

who says plastic surgery is stupid then to each other. We seem to

think that if a woman speaks up about plastic surgery then she is

just a feminist, activist, peace corp, hippie. It's sad but true.

Women might think twice because the guy is some young, hollywood

actor.
