Disadvantages Once that port is removed, (which requires another minor surgery) the implant cannot be deflated and re-inflated as can the standard smooth round. This would be necessary if a capsule contracture were to occur, or the pocket needed to be repaired due to stretching of mal-position of the implant due to problems with the pocket, e.g., the implants settling in too low, etc. They would have to be removed intact, which requires a longer incision and scar, and risks injuring the implant. Also, every time the implant port is accessed, i.e., with a needle or to be removed, there is a risk, albeit small, of introducing an infection. The doctor should probably cover you with antibiotics for a couple of days each time this is done.

Most interviews, or doctor - patient consultations, last no more than 30 minutes. During that time a tremendous amount of critical information will be exchanged between you and your doctor. For a variety of reasons, your ability to remember, recall and utilize this information hours or days later is considerably diminished. As a plastic surgeon that has conducted thousands of consultations over the past thirteen years, it is my experience and point of view that most patients DO NOT recall critical elements of information gathered during the interview process. These videotaped segments present accurate and reliable information that you need to understand in order to make informed choices. You will be able to review these tapes and this information as many times as you need, and with whom you wish to, in the privacy of your own home.

wow, that truely is impressive...lol, you found in 15 minutes what i

couldnt find in 3 years. My biggest concern after finding out about

the potential for mold and bacteria from this group was the fact

that the implant had been manipulated a few times and i honeslty

think that is why i decided to get them out for good. I was not

aware of the chance for mold when i selected this tyoe of implant

and it was most certainly not explained to me, imagine that? :) The

link that you just provided just cemented that theory i just hope it

does not cause my doctor any additonal trouble since they have to be

taken out in tact. Thank you fort he info thoough. im sure this

will be beneficial to Dr Feng wheni have them removed.
