Coconut Creek Recommendation Diagnosis

Hi Listmates,

Need help with a referral. My friend that lives in Coconut Creek has a 4 year

old with a diagnosis (by the school board) of DD but we suspect he is really

PDD. Mom has CMS. Any recommendations in her area for a specialist that can

diagnose him correctly. He is having an awful time in school b/c even though he

is in Place Program, the teacher thinks that what we see as sensory issues,

language communication peculiarities common in ASD, lacking tools to socialize

appropriately, fleeting eye contact, etc..., the teacher considers " rudeness and

poor parenting skills! " The stories I have heard about this teacher make me

think that my 3 year old nephew has much more common sense than her! Who the

heck gave this woman an ESE degree?!!! Scary! Recommendations for a GOOD therapy

center that takes CMS in Coconut Creek area would also be greatly appreciated.

The little one needs PT/OT/Speech and Behavior Therapy (the later one I have

already told her would not be covered under her insurance though). Thanks!
