Guest guest
What an uplifting story this is!!! My grandparents built a house about 3 yrs ago. Almost as soon as they moved in another couple started to build a house right across the street from them. This couple was in their late 70's and had alot in common with my grandparets. They soon became very close friends. Our whole family got to know this wonderful couple as my grandma would have family gatherings and always invite them. They had no children so they were always very thankful to be spending the holidays with their friends. Unfortunately, about 9 months ago, she was diagnosised with bone cancer. The doctors did not give her much hope and her husband was devastated as was she. They told her she could try a round of chemo and radiation but she still did not have a very good chance of survival. This hit our family hard because they had become part of our family. We put her on the prayer chain and helped in any way we could. She stayed strong and decided to go through chemo to see if it would help at all. He husband was VERY negative and would make comments out loud to her. She just brushed them off and stayed focused. She started her treatments and for the most part did pretty well handling them. About a month ago, she was nearing the end of her treatments and the doctors wanted to see if the chemo had helped. They took a biopsy and told her they would be in touch. Much to everyones suprise, including the doctors, she had NO trace of cancer in her. The doctors asked her to finish her last 2 chemo treatments just to be safe. She beat the odds. She stayed positive and said she would do what she could and the rest was in God's hands. To this day - a month later she is healthy, happy and active. The doctors are amazed. I know she has taught me not to give up. I wanted to share this story with you all - it brings hope to me eerytime I think of it.
