Guest guest
Hi Devon, I am scheduled for my explant on Wed Jan 16th. It took me 2 years to find the money and a surgeon. I am seeing a surgeon in Ontario, Canada. I originally wanted to see Dr Feng or Dr Huang, but was unable to gather the money it would take to travel and afford them. I feel very confident with the woman that willl be doing my surgery on Wed. I wish you luck on your quest, it can take some time, but you will get there!! Guest guest
Hi , Congrats on getting a surgery date. That was the hardest thing for me to do. Who are you seeing??? I am really nervous about the surgery itself, but also the shock afterward. I hope it will be a great relief to have these implants out of my body. I thought this day would never come, and here it is right on my doorstep!! Oh boy.. Katy:) --- lisatucholski <lisatucholski@...> wrote: > Hi Katy, > YEEAAAHHH! This a great thing. Guest guest
PH, You are very reassuring, thank you!! I am having my surgery done in the Toronto area by Dr Khanna. I had to find someone close to me, as I had a very difficult time gathering the funds for my explant. My ND prescribed my several things for my hormones including Chaste Tree Berry. Within a month of my cyst rupturing, I felt infinitely better. I am still having some pelvic pain and will explore that (my Drs want to do a laparoscopy to get a diagnosis for endometriosis) AFTER I recover from explant because I feel like these implants are probably connected to alot. Guest guest
Katy, good morning. Honey, you do not have to pay for your explant here in Canada, it should be covered by your health care. This is bothering me, because I thought that explants were covered. Traci, did you have to pay for your explant? The implants have failed, and we should not have to pay to have them removed anywhere in the world. Please stay close, and we will be waiting for your special day. This will be the beginning of a new life for you, and your little friend....love you.....Lea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~```` Re: Re: Hi Ladies, It's Katy, I'm back... Guest guest
Thank you, sweetheart, this is news to me, because every woman who I have helped here never had to pay a cent. Most were implanted with silicone breast implants, but you had silicone too! told me that if your doctor writes a letter saying that the implants must be removed, then it is covered here in Alberta. He said that you should contact OHIP to find out what happens in Ontario regarding explant. Guest guest
Hi Mom,Yes, I am so glad OHIP covered my explant plus nursing and medical supplies otherwise we would have lost our house by now. I'm estimating all my surgeries, nursing and supplies would be in the $100,000 range by now.My surgeon backed me up on everything so I'm covered and our life savings are safe. I am so lucky and very blessed.Right now I'm at home and plan on relaxing today. Hope you and Superman have a good day.Love you both,TraciLea <devans@...> wrote: Thank you, sweetheart, this is news to me, because every woman who I have helped here never had to pay a cent. Guest guest
Hi Devon, Oh Bob sounds just wonderful to support you through this and help you financially. I believe this debt will be worth it!!! I saved as much as I could (because I alse have noooo credit!) and took out a VERY high interest (37.5%!!!!!!) loan from a medical financing company for the rest. Fortunately, My explant is covered by insurance here in Ontario, but I am also having a lift and that I have to pay for. Once I recover, I plan to work alot and pay it off quickly. Good luck to you Devon. Dr Feng's office was so wonderful and helpful when I spoke to them on several occasions. Guest guest
Hi Lea, I do not have to pay for my explant, but I am paying for a lift that I am getting at the same time as OHIP will not pay for that. I decided I didn't want to wait to get a hospital date through OHIP (it can be up to a year wait time). My surgeon is billing OHIP for my explant and I am paying to have my surgery done at her private clinic and the lift. I didn't want to wait any longer so the expense is worth it. It is wonderful that women in Canada don't have to pay for explant. but I think Traci is right about needing a medical reason for it and then there is a long wait as it is not priority surgery. I think it is pretty easy to have capsular contraction stated as a reason for explant. That is the reason my surgeon will use for OHIP too. Katy:) --- Lea <devans@...> wrote: > Katy, good morning. Guest guest
Oh, honey, we are happy that you two were taken care of financially. Money is one of the biggest problems that women like us have. It has destroyed many families, because it puts a strain on marriages. We have been through so much stress over money, because I have not been able to work since 1989. This has caused to work three jobs at once, and it was killing him. When I hired a broker to repair our castle, it was one of the smartest things that I could have done. Another thing that helped us was that I bought a condo from a young man without any payment down, and it was rent to own. We made $100,000.00 when we sold it, and that helped to buy this home. The real estate market was going wild, and that was a miracle for us. This home has drained our bank account, but has a good position at the university. We will make repairs after we have saved the money to make them. Guest guest
Katy, it is wonderful to hear from you. I thought that you were being explanted tomorrow, but it must be some one of the other ladies. I really am a mess, my memory is playing games on me....is it tomorrow? Honey, it is great that they will do a lift at the same time. They have refused to do an MRI on me, and we are angry, because we pay so much for our health care, even ambulances are covered.
