April,

I thought explant was a breeze compared to getting implants placed in my body... It was for one a relief, they were gone, since I found out finally they were the root of my sickness... So that will relieve your stress tension as well.... It is a super big no no for us to get stressed out with implant sickness... We don't seem to cope as we could have prior to getting implants... I would get them implants out.. If you have to have your husband move all the boxes of stuff to your new home...Set up the bed and rest til you could decorate... I think you will do fine if it is one month later after explant, however... You will do a lot better with them out, rather than keeping them in your body... The decision of getting explant is wonderful... It is not that bad of a surgery... I don't think you can do heavy lifting for 6 weeks though.. So as long as hubby got the stuff to the home, set up your bed, you could just rest for the next two weeks, then set up your home... If you wait to get explant, you risk being deadly sick upon moving into your new home, chances are you will not feel like moving anyway... Another risk is that you injure yourself moving... You don't want the implants to leak more toxins into your body... I would get them out... Protect yourself... Worry of your Health, then a home... I remember when I found this site, I made an emergency surgery for removal in 3 weeks, that felt like eternity to me... Then I felt so much worse within those 3 weeks of waiting, it seems like my life was saved in the nick of time... It sounds crazy but a lot could happen from toxic implants in a few months... The damage is slow but it is happening daily...I suggest Health then Moving... Tell your Husband you will feel better when getting them out, stress and health wise... Then move.. Hang in there... I am so glad you are getting them toxic bags out of you soon...

God Bless,

April,

Oooh, this is a catch-22 either way.

I'd say move before your surgery, because you will want the peace and

quiet of your new home for recovery after your surgery. But on the

other hand, all that work packing and moving is going to take a toll

on you too. When you feel so terrible, it's like having to climb an

impossible mountain.

But I'd still vote for moving and then having the surgery. This will

be a good move financially, and you can focus on just getting better

and not having to worry about all of the work of moving after such a

big event for your body.

Just my two cents.

Wow! . . That's exciting, you really will have a new life when you get those implants out!

Personally, I think you'd probably do well to wait until after the move.

Are you going to be moving all your things yourself, or will you have professional movers come in and pack for you?

If you aren't using movers, I'd lean on some friends or family to help you with the packing and unpacking . . . Your hubby can line up some friends to help with the moving stuff . . . Just take care of yourself!

Remember everything will be there waiting for you when you are ready to deal with it. . . It's just stuff! . . Your health is more important!

Hugs and prayers,

Rogene

Should I get explant before or after we move?

My husband and I have been talking and trying to decide when to get my surgery. I have my first consultation w/Dr. Melmed this Friday, so we will be talking it over with him. But I wanted to get some opinions from those of you who've had the surgery. We are selling our home and moving into a home we just purchased. The house we're moving into will not be ready for a month. We have the option of moving into that as soon as it's done (which would be the best decision financially) , or staying in the house we're in now for an additional month. So basically if I get the surgery in the next month I will have maybe a month before we move. Or I can wait and get it after we're in the new house, which realistically would be a couple of months from now. There are pros and cons to both options. Since I have no idea how I'll feel after my surgery it makes it really difficult for me to plan this

stuff. I don't want to over-do it either before or after the surgery. I'm already tired a lot and the thought of preparing to move is overwhelming. But the thought of moving after surgery isn't too great either! I'm hoping some of you who've been through the surgery can help us make the best plan for me. Opinions, please! :o)Thanks again ladies,April

My three cents .........I would say

Move gently.....then have your surgery.

You wont have to worry after surgery about

the move. You need to not have any worries

when you are recovering.

If it is a brand new house, or if it has brand new carpet

or paint, I would say that it needs to be aired out well,

with you not in it, for a while before you move in tho, so

you dont have to worry about the chemicals adding

to your chemical sensitivity from the implants. Have

your hubby open the windows there every day to air

out before you move in.

Hugs, prayers, and lots of hope !

Hi April,

I have not had my explant yet but from what i have been told i can

not lift anything more then 5lbs for 3 weeks after the surgery so

that may be cutting it a little close if you will be moving heavy

things.

Hi ,

I was curious, did your explant hurt much less then when you had

them put in? I consider myself to have a pretty high tolerance for

pain but the second day after having implants put in I could not

even get out of bed! They were placed under the muscle so i am

assuming thsts why they hurt so bad but do they have to cut the

muscle again to get them out?

Thanks for all of your input, I really appreciate it. Yeah, I guess

I am leaning more towards moving before getting the surgery. The

hard part about that is just knowing that the longer I wait the worse

it is for me. But I know if I get the surgery and then have to move,

that will be very stressful for me and that won't be good. I guess

we will just get all the help we can with the move and I will do my

best to take it easy. I'm planning to get as much unpacking done as

possible before my surgery so that I won't feel stressed afterwards.

I know myself and I'd be sitting there looking around at the mess and

wouldn't be able to relax. Luckily our kids are old enough to help a

lot and we do have family close by.

This is a good move for us. We are selling our big expensive house

and moving 45 min away to a smaller town and a much less expensive

home. But we really love it and so do our kids. My husband will be

able to get out of the " rat race " business he has and can do what he

loves. Our house will be smaller and much easier for me to maintain,

so I can spend more time doing things I want to do. I am looking

forward to when I am healthier and can do all the fun creative

projects I'm thinking up! :o)

I really feel like God has brought all of this together for us at

just the right time. I do get freaked out sometimes, but I know He

has it all in His hands.

Thanks to all of you,

April

Hi April,

Sounds like everything is falling into place for you. I know it gets

scary sometimes especially when every thing hits all at once but the

thing that keeps me calm is knowing that i have friends and family

near by which is a blessing in itself. God has taken care of you

this far and will see you through the next few weeks until explant.

I just keep reminding myself how lucky i am that i found this site

to help me get these things properly removed as well as have the

resources to be able to afford to have it done.

I did get the pain pump, so this may have helped a lot... Don't know... However I think it was so much easier to get them out than put inside of me.. Night/Day difference... Explant was so much easier... I would not be lifting heavy stuff for the recovery time.. Not sure if 3 or 6 weeks post op... I would get them out ASAP... I am speaking from a medical health emergency only though... I found the web site and 3 weeks later, poof they were gone... I just couldn't stand how I was feeling all sick from them implants... I hope God will give you the answers to you question of whether to move then implants out, or visa Versa... God usually will guide you upon asking for help from him... He knows what is best and when the best time is to do it... Follow your Gut instincts that is never wrong... Ask for a pain pump, they make a world of difference... You have no pain, no falling down pilled out head with it... Pills make me crazy, so the pain pump was a great option for myself...

Hang in there,

Hey April- I just had my explant 2 months ago, and from experience I'd

say to wait till after your surgery to move. I know you are tired now,

but you will probably be even more tired after surgery! Plus, it will

be so nice to be moved and settled into your new home before you

surgery, one last thing to worry about! You can concentrate at that

point on just getting your health back and healing.

Good luck with your decision!

Thanks, Rogene that's a good idea. Luckily our home is a farmhouse

built in 1884 w/original hardwood floors (yay!), so we will not be

dealing with carpet. But we will be having the inside painted (and

possibly the floors refinished), so it will definitely need to be aired

out before we move in. :o)
