Guest guest
The ONLY requirement for KidCare is that the child has not had insurance for 30 days preceeding and does not have coverage available. There are no pre existing exclusions. There is a sliding scale that starts at $15.00 up to $120. premium depending on parents income. The only reason it will become Medicaid is if the parents income (not assets) qualify the child for Medicaid. There is CMS Medicaid if the child has an ongoing chronic condition. With Kidcare you have $3.00 copays and it will cover everything except for Behavior. (You can get some on a emergency basis) To get Medwaiver Medicaid you need a 299.0 diagnosis of Autism, or CT, Spina Befi., Praga Will., or IQ below 60 to get you on the list. Some families wait for 7 yrs on the list before they get services, which gives you Medicaid (Straight medicaid, not one of the "plans".) I've become an expert in this thanks to the Mikmonster who was on the list at 16,674 for only one year. Because of her crisis behavior I was able to get her services. Jayne, Mom to the Mikmonster who has not even noticed Princess the kitty is gone.
