Guest guest
Why all those records?? The requirement to produce all those records are centered around a federal law suit of a child with autism who requested Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), the only scientifically based therapy for treating Autism. The school district denied coverage. The production request for these records was granted in order to investigate the IEP's of autistic children in order to obtain information regarding the denial of such requests and to see if such a service was systematically done and whether such a service was ever offered. If you are concerned about the money being spent to undertake this file collection, remember all the money that should have been spent administering appropriate services, mainly ABA, to your child and was not spent. You also should remember federal district cases never get there until all state remedies have been exhausted. In other words, the Broward School District had ample time to do what they should have done but failed to do. Now you might be more interested in watching the Superintendent wiggle around the Special Education Funding issue but I'm waiting to see how the District plans on bashing this attorney and his client.
