Guest guest
Wonderful Krista! I see this reporter used alot of our favorite doctors in her article....Dr. Huang, Dr. Kolb, Dr. Melmed. I just wish she would have talked more about the illness factor. But overall, it did give adequate warning about the need for more surgery. Women need to know that implants are not forever, and they will need to spend ALOT more money once they've made the decision to have this surgery the first time. Good job! Guest guest
Patty- I felt the same way. She did ask me about my illness, but not a ton of questions. I was disapointed that that wasn't included in the article, but I guess they just decided to do the article on the fact that implants are not lifetime devices. I guess, for now that is one step in the right direction for us! Guest guest
Thanks Cherie. I do not feel at all like a celebrity. But, what a thing to be in the NY Times for, huh? Augh! A girl that I work with showed up in my cube this morning... " I saw you in the NY Times this morning, " I was like " auuuu, ahhhh, uhhhh, ohhhhh......yeahhh, realllyyy???..... " :-) The picture is awful. I was telling PH that they wanted it to be a serious shot, no smiles or anything. Not only do I look so sad, but it's like right up my nose! Oh well! The important thing is that the article is out, one more step in the right direction for us. I wish they would have written more on the implant illness, they did ask me about my illness, but I guess they decided not to write about that. Maybe too much controversy??? ~Krista > > > > Hello Everyone- I just wanted to let you all know that the long > awaited NY Times article that I am featured is has now been > published! Guest guest
Hey Krista, Good for you!! I'm glad to see articles like this are being written. While they didn't address our illnesses, they still are getting the word out that these things aren't forever and that it's an expensive proposition. Guest guest
Patty, I did like the article, like you wished they would of spoke of our sickness... Or do they all fear a Lawsuit... Makes me cringe... It is so sad... Once again Dr. Kolb made a good remark talking of all the Goo (silicone) now that might scare off a customer, who knows... Well thank god they said they needed replaced at 10 years, that may save some lives...I didn't know Dr. Huand did the transfers from fat? Well I guess a good story, just wish we could be taken serious about our health issues... God Bless, ~Start the year off right. Easy ways to stay in shape in the new year. Guest guest
I was at the hair salon last night flipping through magazines and happened to come across one of the Natrelle ads that Natasha Singer referenced in Miss Celebrity Krista's article. Had I not been through a year of hell due to implant illness, I could see how these ads might tempt me into getting implants. I mean they make it sound so casual and bascially equate getting a boob job to going out and picking up a pair of shoes or gallon of milk! So sad for all these women who are being brainwashed on a daily basis. Here's one of the ads although I don't find it as persuasive as the one I saw in the salon...I couldn't find that one online. I worry so much for the women who give into the pressures. They're risking their lives!! - PH http://thecurvature.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/natrelle2.jpg > > Hello Everyone- I just wanted to let you all know that the long awaited NY Times article that I am featured is has now been published! Guest guest
Krista, I'm thrilled you were willing to be interviewed - and that you were featured in the NY Times! . . . I know a least one other woman who may be featured . . . there are probably more. . . Perhaps they are tackling one aspect at a time . .. This time it was cost. . . I'm sure you saved thousands of women from getting breast implants with that one article! Thanks so much, Rogene
Guest guest
Krista, I have yet to hear anyone who has been interviewed feel that their entire story was told! . . . I guess, for political correctness, they must try to balance stories . . . But the implant debacle has gone way beyond sanity. . .It's time the media stood up to be counted as advocates for public health! Hugs, Rogene

Guest guest
I have not talked with my original PS since the last time i went in to ask him about my symtpoms and if it could all be related. When i asked about doing en bloc he got very short with me and said that if i wanted them removed it would cost 5000.00 but he refused to remove capusules and i was overreacting then he abruptly left the room. Last night i received an advertisment in the mail from his office that he can now perform breast augmentation through the belly button leaving no scars on the breast. I told my husband " imagine that, all the sickness with none of the scars, How exciting! " He made it sound like if women did not jump on this they would be nuts and the sad part is if i had not know better i probably woul have looked into it more becuase the advertising was done so well. I wonder how many women this doctor is going to infect with his new line of advertising. > > > > Hello Everyone- I just wanted to let you all know that the long > awaited NY Times article that I am featured is has now been > published! Guest guest
Rogene- I sure hope you are right. It wasn't easy airing my dirty laundry all over the country! I surely did not do this to be a celebrity or anything like that. My only goal is to get the word out there, that's all I'm focused on. Let's just hope that the media continues to write articles, even if it is just one aspect at a time!
