Guest guest
Hi Beth- I'm just going to give you my two cents on your appointment. First, I have no idea whether your ND's office is in it just for the money. I'm sure with every ND there is SOME aspect of this. I mean, regardless of what is going on with our health, they still have to make a profit from seeing us, that is the cruel world we live in. :-( I'm glad to hear that everything came back normal as far as your thyroid and adrenals. I want to point out that my thyroid is completely normal too, and I'm sure my adrenals are too (haven't gotten the test back yet to confirm that,) but that in no way means that I am good to go and that I shouldn't be having any more symptoms and don't need to be detoxing and taking supplements. I know that the toxins and chemicals from the implants totally wreaked havoc on my body, way behind adrenals and thyroid. The toxins get into our digestive system, nervous system, endocrine system, circulatory system, lymph system, etc. So, even if your thyroid and adrenals are great, this doesn't mean that you don't need help. I'm not telling you to go out and drop money on every supplement they are telling you to buy, but what I would ask them is to go over their reasoning for wanting to give you each supplement. My ND spent a long time with me going over everything she was recommending that I take, and gave me reasons why based on my symptoms and tests. At my second appointment, I gave her $600.00. This include the first two visits with her, ONE test, and the supplements (one month worth.) So, it doesn't sound like they are too far off with their pricing. I take about 20 pills a day (spaced out through my day) so that part doesn't sound strange to me either. I think the hair sample is really going to show you what your issues are, that is the heavy metal test, right? The saliva was probably for your adrenals. What was your urine for? Did they test for environmental pollutants? I can't speak on the foot bath stuff, but there has definitely been mixed reviews about it, from my understanding. Good luck with your decision! I'm in the same boat...spending LOTS of money to get better! I'm sure the other ladies will have some great advice for you! Love, Krista > > Hi Ladies - I just returned from another appointment with a new ND > and am totally confused. I did get a lot of good help from him, but I had to do a LOT of my own research and make decisions on what I felt was right for me. My first visit with him (including buying supplements from his office, etc) was over $1200! After that I found less expensive supplements to take based on his recommendations (some of which worked even better than his stuff). I also found things on my own that helped me that he didn't tell me anything about. So IMHO you should take what your doctor says and do some research and then go with what your gut tells you. As far as the adrenal/thyroid thing - mine came back " normal " , too. But I still had a LOT of symptoms of hyper/hypo thyroid and adrenal fatigue. My dr actually put me on a thyroid med (like Armour) but I had a weird reaction to it. But, I have responded well to the Standard Process thyroid and adrenal supplements. I learned a lot about thyroid issues from www.stopthethyroidmadness.com, but I'll warn you - all the info can be pretty overwhelming. ) 20 pills a day? That doesn't sound too bad...I take almost 40! :oO Don't be discouraged. I know after seeing my ND and not getting all the answers I wanted I was pretty frustrated and discouraged, too. I expected him to " fix " me. But I've learned through this experience that dr's are beneficial to us as a tool to help us heal ourselves. Ultimately we have to make our own choices about what's right for us. You sound like your on the right track to finding what will work for you. Guest guest
Beth, When you're accustomed to conventional medicine, and most of your medical care being covered by insurance, it takes a huge leap of faith to try alternative medicine . . . It's understandable. However, let's look at it this way . . . You've been tied to conventional medicine throughout your breast implant experience. Where did it get you? . . . How much have your medical costs cost your insurance company? The way I see it, you can get better by picking and chosing things we've tried and suggested. There's no guarantee it will save you money, because we can't test you for anything. If you can afford to see a doctor who will put together a program TAILORED TO YOUR NEEDS, so much the better. You've already learned a lot from your visit . . . What you DON'T have! . . . There's money saved right there! . . . If you can afford to continue seeing the naturopath - without upsetting your hubby too much, I'd suggest getting the supplements for one month . . . then finding an equivalent if you want . . . In the long run, you will probably more of what you need by having personal support. Hugs, Rogene

Guest guest
Thanks for all the advice. It is just so much - my poor husband is working so hard and I feel like I am spending all of our extra money on trying to get better.....it's depressing WOW - I did not relize that alot of you had adrenal and thyroid test that came back normal......I thought that msot of the test showed adrenal stress and also hormonal stress. I was very pleased to her mine looked normal byt the test she did. Maybe it is just not detecting what is wrong. Maybe I will try the supplements but it just seemed like an awful lot. I hate putting pills (even if it is supplements) in my body. I do not want to do anymore damage to my body. Maybe I will call and talk with her again. I just felt kinda weird because my whole appointment was the testing andthen her telling me what to take. There was not alot of discussion involved....I think I would feel better if I knew WHY I was taking them and how they were going to help me. Does anyone have any input on the comment regarding the detox foot bath????? How about he fact she does not have me on a multivitamin/mineral while I am doing this..... Guest guest
Hi Beth, I don't have an answer about the foot bath but I know that mine seem to help me. I even feel sort of crappy for a couple of days after and then much better. So, I know it is doing something because I wouldn't feel horrible for two days if I was just putting my feet in water. I do think it is pulling out toxins. Once, when I just finished antibiotics, I had a foot bath and the yeast showed up. I had baths pre antibiotics where no yeast showed. I am not sure what bath you bought verses the one they use on me at the spa I go to, but I do think they work. But it pulls both good and bad. I feel the same about my hubby. He is getting sick of how much this costing us too. It is tough, I would love to get another job just to pay for my holistic health care but I am too damn sick to work two jobs. I am getting ready to get two mercury fillings removed and a metal cap removed. It is going to be $900. Something we don't have. Another thing I will charge. But I want to get better and my mouth is full of this crappy mercury fillings. Plus, I want to see an ND but don't have that $$. Hugs, Lynn > > Thanks for all the advice.
It is just so much - my poor husband is working so hard and I feel like I am spending all of our extra money on trying to get better.....it's depressing > > > WOW - I did not relize that alot of you had adrenal and thyroid test that came back normal......I thought that msot of the test showed adrenal stress and also hormonal stress. Guest guest
Beth, I can tell you I had adrenal test, negative, thyroid test, negative, all came back GREAT... Well these issues are not great with me... I share most of the same symptoms you complain of... I was dirt broke and sick... I was blessed to have gotten the implants out, with a friends money by credit card... I went to Dr. Kolb had explant..Bought the top 4 supplements she recommend.. Since she wanted me on around 10 or so.. I just ask her what is the top 4 I should get? She told me I bought them... I stopped all sugar.. I worked on my diet.. I drank only water, when water was awful tasting I added a little lemon juice... I soaked all veggies and fruit in sea salt and lemon juice for 20 minutes... I did the foot bath.. I did a multivitamin (one Dr kolb gave me) I did the mag/calcium/vitamin d Rogene recommended for burning feet.. Brushed teeth in baking soda... Took Epsom salts bath, with peroxide and ginger root in a panty hose sock... I prayed a lot... Did Turkey Rhubarb for IBS.. It worked... Went to CVS Pharmacy got me a bottle of Mucinex $13.00 split on in half morning another half at night... NO MINT and No Aloe.. I was broke barely had money for foods, much less a doctor or any more supplements... A dear lady sent me some B 12 spray for brain fog... I seemed ok in about 6 months.. Then one year post op lots better and now a lot better.. I slip my diet but still manage to be ok... I think the main thing is the Diet, NO Stressing over the sickness ( hardest part not to do) and figuring out what to do and not to do... Taking to much stuff at once and all at once may not be a great option... A Probiotic and an Anti fungal is the first number 1 and 2 we need 3rd is Liver detox milk thistle x, is what i took.... Oh I ate lots of raw garlic (enough to make me sick) and Armour thyroid.. I had a friend that had all the money and went to doctor to doctor and tried to find her remedy to rid her sickness... She had most of the same symptoms as I did, her sickness was from an extremely molded house...She did way to much, in my opinion...She has been on her mission to find this miracle thing going on two years and still running around, SICK>>> So sometimes we just need to sit back and let nature take its course.. Liver detox, anti fungal, probitics and diet... That would be a good calm start.... Then slowly work your way up to other stuff and remedies... Praying does wonders and believing you are healed...Hope this might help... God Bless, ~Start the year off right. Easy ways to stay in shape in the new year. Guest guest
Krista, It pray you and her find answers for healing... My Adrenal and thyroid test came back normal....So did all the test I ever took, which I took so many... You are right, we have bio toxins in our entire body and it is putting havoc on the entire body.. even thyroid and adrenals...The other girl mentioned she is dehydrated... Well if you look in the next pill bottle you open, you will find a packet of silicone in there, which is put in there to keep the pills dry.. That is why we have dry eyes, mouth and dehydration... This will fix itself in some time... It takes a few years to rid most of these symptoms... I know one lady who got explant with Dr. Kolb, she took all the suppliments Dr. Kolb gave her.. Never bought another one, didn't go back to a doctor, she is fine today... Wonderful after waiting two years.. She said, positive thinking... Diet is the reason... Keeping out all toxins is a help... Change to a soap like goats milk...Soak in epsom salt... Put a filter on the shower to keep out of chlorine... Do the foot baths...Do the infra red sauna...Do probiotics... Antifungals... and Raw Garlic... Gargle in Lemon juice or peroxide...Brush teeth in baking soda and peroxide... Soak ears by pouring in peroxide and I find vinagar works as well...Soak all veggies and fruit in lemon juice and salt for 20 minutes prior to eating them, this kills the pesticides....Drink tons of water... I also had a hard time eating all my fruit daily, so I juiced them to make sure I got all the dose of fruit in the day...You can drink say 3 apples, 2 pears and drink 6 carrots and 7 celery sticks in one sitting... I still have my juicer from walmart $30.00 There are cheaper ways to rid things... Time is truly the key here... NO stress is Key...I felt like I had ran from dr to dr for over a year, I found the culprit... GOT them OUT so I was done with doctors myself... I needed tons of doctors, yet none really had my cure... There is none for us.. So SAD... One the other hand taking to much stuff do we really figure out what is working and what is not... I was doing the 10 pills for breakfast, then 6 at lunch and another 10 for dinner and the diet and stressed me out...Good Luck to you all. ~Start the year off right. Guest guest
Hey Beth, This sounds like a standard appointment in a naturopath's office. They will definitely sell you lots of supplements. I was very selective regarding the supplements I bought from those doctors, and instead saved money by taking their recommendations and then going and buying what I thought was good enough. They don't like that, of course, but they do make alot of money on supplements. It sounds like you could use some thyroid support based on what was said, rather than adrenal support. If your tests came out okay, then I wouldn't push the issue. Healing is just going to take time, and paying attention to your diet, and supporting any hormonal deficiencies you may have. Have you had a proper thyroid test? Patty > > Hi Ladies - I just returned from another appointment with a new ND > and am totally confused. Guest guest
Hi Patty - well I am sorry to have to ask this - maybe I should already know the answer - what is a proper thyroid test??? My doctor did one a few months ago by a blood test and it came back ok. Basically, my main complaints still are my digestion issues, memory issues, dizziness and feet tingling. My knees are starting to ache a little also. My digestive issue were being helped with a cheap supplement given to me by the first ND I went to. However, she "tested" me with that supplement and siad it was no good for me - imagine that. I guess I feel like this is somewhat of a gimmick to get money by changing my supplements. My digestion was getting better with what I was taking although, I did not take one this morning like I usually do because of these test and I am paying for it now. I am in so much discomfort tonight and have been running to the bathroom every 30 mins or so...... It has just been a very stressful day. I want to get better but I do not want to go broke doing it. I just feel that there has to be a way to detox and heal without paying $300/month for supplements alone. I also was concerned about her comment on the foot baths. I just spent $250 on one of those for her to tell me it isnot going to help me alot...... I am jsut very frustrated. I know I am not going to heal overnight and do not expect to but I also do not expect to be told 2 different things by 2 ND's and feel like the one with more experience in the field is taking more advantage of the money. I honestly feel like listening to you all who have been through it an know what helps is the best route, although I know everyone is different so what works for one will not always work for everyone. I am jsut a little let down today I guess - I am sure tomorrowwill be better Much Love, Beth Re: What Next???? Hey Beth,This sounds like a standard appointment in a naturopath's office. They will definitely sell you lots of supplements.I was very selective regarding the supplements I bought from those doctors, and instead saved money by taking their recommendations and then going and buying what I thought was good enough. Have you had a proper thyroid test?Patty>> Hi Ladies - I just returned from another appointment with a new ND > and am totally confused. Guest guest
Thanks Marie - I am just thinking if I can get my tummy straighten out, I would be doing pretty good. Although, sine my appointment yesterday, my right arm HURTS so bad. Like the muscles and stuff. I have no idea why. My wrist hurt, my inner thighs on my legs hurt.....any idea what is going on???? Beth Re: What Next???? I did a multivitamin (one Dr kolb gave me) I did the mag/calcium/ vitamin d Rogene recommended for burning feet.. I was broke barely had money for foods, much less a doctor or any more supplements. .. God Bless, ~ Start the year off right. Easy ways to stay in shape in the new year. Looking for last minute shopping deals? Guest guest
Beth, You haven't done anything unusual I assume? . . . It sounds like you may have done something to strain those muscles. Did she draw blood from that arm? Have you taken anything different? Stopped anything you were taking? We need Detective Dede to pay you a call! Guest guest
Beth ~ What kind of thyroid and adrenal tests did you have? Guest guest
Beth ~ I will be interested in what your numbers are. For some reason, I have a funny feeling about this ND you saw. I cant pinpoint it, and not sure why, but I do. When you have the results, let me know what they are. I still think you are having some thyroid/adrenal compromise..... Guest guest
No I do not think I did anything unusual. They are feeling a little better today - although they still hurt. The only thinkg i did was miss my morning dose of supplements (which I am paying for with my digestion) and at the ND's they did some test that she said is sending electricity through me to test my organs and stuff. Idid not know id it could be from that or not..... Yesterday was just a tough day all around - today is a little better - I jsut wish my digestion would straighten up...... Much Love, Beth Re: What Next???? Beth, You haven't done anything unusual I assume? . . . It sounds like you may have done something to strain those muscles. Did she draw blood from that arm?
