Guest guest
Debi, that's where your gall bladder is. You may want to have it checked out. My sister never had gallstones, but her gall bladder became inflamed, and she felt the pain you are talking about. Hers was removed, but when my mother had the same thing a couple of years later, she didn't do anything about it. Hers became infected and she had a real problem. Don't know if it's the same thing, but it's not necessarily your liver. Marilyn Pain in Right Side I have been off tx for almost 2 years now, still have been undetected as off Sept. Praise God!! My question is I have been having some sharp pains in my right side under my rib cage, I was thinking it was my liver but my best friend says that your internal organs have no feeling. Is this true? If anyone knows the answer I would appreciate it as if it is my liver I will need to go back to dr. *****To all you new people who are starting tx or just started, Keep your faith, it may get rough during all this, but for me it was worth it. You are all in my thoughts and prayers daily. If there is anything I can help anyone with, do not hesitate to ask. We are all in this together!!! Guest guest
Debi, Are you still drinking enough water? I live in the desert and need to drink water all the time. A couple of years ago I allowed myself to get dehydrated and developed a rather large kindey stone. I had a lot of pain in my right side under my ribs. Have you noticed blood in your urine? The liver does not feel pain but the lining will if irriated or if there is swelling. Glenn > I have been off tx for almost 2 years now, still have been undetected > as off Sept. Praise God!! Guest guest
I'm a RN and I was taught there was no pain from the liver...but.....I have liver pain and even spasms from the liver....the gastro doctor said....he couldn't explain it....there's not suppose to be pain but most people with chronic hep c complain of liver pain. He says it's like a person with a limb removed and they feel pain....real pain...yet there's no scientific data to back it up. I have spasms from the liver all the way up into my neck that are very painful and lasts about 10 minutes. At first all doctors said gallstones, gallbladder problems but all gallbladder tests repeatedly come back normal and no stones. The gastro doctor thinks it is from the ports where blood enters and leaves the liver....there is much fibrosis there that might cause constriction and spasms...no one knows for sure....judy. Guest guest
Debi.....that is the same area you would feel gallbladder problems...or even a duodenal ulcer. It's at the place where the stomach empties into the small intestine. Does anything relieve the pain, antacids, eating, etc?....judy
Guest guest
My pain has been on the right side. I started taking 1/1, (1/2 tsp egg shell calcium to 65 mg magnesium) and it was worse, so I took 2/2 ( 1/2 tsp escal to 130 mg mag) and it was even worse yet! So, I asked you what you take and you said that you took less calcium than magnesium. I cannot remember the amounts any more. I then cut the calcium in half to 1/4 tsp egg shell calcium to 130 mg magnesium, (1, 65 mg morning and 1, 65 mg night). I am so much better, but still have a slight leg pain on the left side (calcium side) and slight pain on the right (magnesium side) I am trying to decide if I need to go down on the two or up. Have you any thoughts? Does this diet help someone with diebetes? My friend has it and is going down hill fast. What is the exact address to tell someone to find this website. I googled the first time to find you, bookmarked and now cannot tell anyone how to find this. Thank you all,

Guest guest
I have a continual pain in my right side, but am beginning to believe it is from the staples or metal clip that the surgeon used to when he removed my gall bladder. Apparently, when you have abdomal surgery, they leave the clips inside. That is the only thing I can figure. My GI, however, thinks it could be a gall stone that occasionally gets caught in a duct. Yet, she won't go in and see what it is until the pain is intollerable. Debby [ ] Pain in right side Someone said that the liver doesn't have nerve endings to cause pain, but pain can be caused by the stretching of the liver capsule, from swelling. (I was reading an article about liver tumors and one of the symptoms was pain in the right side.) So there are many causes for pain in the right side it seems. Guest guest
Yes, we are leaving the 9th! Cannot wait! It will be trip of a lifetime! I have my little card to show to the waiters and I am encouraged by the resonses of people who have been to Italy with CD. I will miss the breads, but there is much else that is healthier that I will be eating! I am taking my trail mixes with me. There will be plenty of fruits and veges....so I am not worried. HOWEVER, I am very encouraged by my latest labs. My alt and ast are not rising dramatically, and now have been normal range for the past three months. The bilirubin ones are somewhat elevated, but so far, I guess I am hanging in there with staying off the 6MP. For the next 6 days, I am on prednisone to clear up a bad sinus/chest thing, so that will keep the inflammation down. As of now, I am holding my own. Hopefully, things will all level off and go back to normal. Actually, I am thinking that my body is trying to readjust to life without the meds! It is going to be interesting to see how long they last....or even if they ever go up. This is the FIRST time, I have really allowed myself to believe that I just might be one of the lucky ones to go into remission. So, even though I have pain, I am off and running. Perhaps, I have just been too worried about all of this liver problelm. Maybe I am just going to sit back and enjoy life! Ciao...I think that is how you say it! Guest guest
Debby, The pain that you're describing could've been caused by a clip that was left inside but I tend to think that it's more likely to be something else. I have frequent pain in the area of the liver (which I know is enlarged). This pain occurs while up sitting up or lying down. Then when I try to rest, l prefer to lay on my right side. I use a variety of pillows to cushion the area even more because both the liver & the rib that I fractured a few months ago hurt. It's quite an ordeal & I feel like the " Princess & the Pea " . With taking diurectics, I have to go through the whole ordeal every time I need to go to the bathroom. Anxious to see my Gastro tommorow. I want to discuss this & the itching. The meds help but not enough. My labs show an increased bili - from 4.9 to 6.5 in three months time. tdcc2000@... wrote: I have a continual pain in my right side, but am beginning to believe it is from the staples or metal clip that the surgeon used to when he removed my gall bladder. Guest guest
Lynn, I use Arnica Montana 30x but I found Something a little stronger in the homeopathic medicine its called Pain Relief made by NatraBio 60 tablets for $7.99 and works. My husband needed something strong for headaches and muscle aches. So this is what I came up with and he is very happy with it along with myself. loveya, in Ohio In a message dated 1/17/2008 8:01:55 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, spinkscl@... writes: Thank you ! Guest guest
Maritza, This is what I did for pain Sea Salt (1 to2 cups) and baking soda(1 cup) for 20 minutes.( more than 20 may exhaust you). And I usually do it more if I want sleep. This bath also counteracts the effects of radiation whether its from x-rays,cancer treatments, radiation from TV or microwaves. Clorox Bath: this helps to remove heavy metals from the body and adds more oxygen.(1/2 cup of Clorox brand bleach only.) 20 minutes also. and when done shower the bleach off of you. This also helps to relieve your skin when its itchy. Epsom Salt and Ginger Bath: Opens pores and eliminates toxin and relieves pain. Stir in 1 cup of Epsom Salt and 2 tablespoons of ginger in a cup of water first then add it to your bath. Bathe no longer than 30 minutes. Epsom-sea-oil: This bath helps with dry skin and stress. 1 Cup Epsom salt 1 cup sea salt and 1 cup sesame oil . Soak for 20 minutes. Vinegar Bath: Use this bath if your body is too acidic. Quick way of restoring the acid-alkaline balance. Mix 1 cup to 2 quart 100% organic apple cidar. Soak for 40-45 minutes. Also this is great for joints, arthritis, bursitis, tendonitis, and GOUT. Bentonite Bath: This is a fast detoxification method. Soak 2-4 pounds of bentonite clay in flat container overnight to dissolve it. Then add the dissolve clay to your bath. With 2 lbs of clay soak for 1 hour. With 4 pounds soak 30 minutes. The more the bentonite used the faster the detoxification. You will end up with a headache. But works on getting heavy metals out.
