Guest guest
OKAY Donna, Take a deep breath. You may not want to go through with the explant with this local doctor. It is so very important to get your explant done correctly. I don't have to say much more myself, because I am SURE you are going to hear from the women who did not have a proper explant the first time around and ended up having to go through another surgery to remove the scar tissue. THIS IS SO IMPORTANT! YOU MUST HAVE AN EN BLOC REMOVAL OR A TOTAL CAPSULECTOMY. Get on the phone right now. Call the doctor's office that is doing the explant. Ask them if they are scheduled to do an en bloc removal. If they say no, or start stammering around about how it is not important to do that, cancel the appt. Start looking for a new surgeon. Here's the deal: Every implant has a scar capsule around it. THe body is walling off " self " from " non-self " in order to protect it. That scar tissue is going to contain silicone oils, degradation products, bacteria, pathogens and let's just call it " stuff " that your immune system is going to continue reacting to. If you are sick and get the implants out, but the doctor leaves that scar tissue in place, your body is STILL going to remain ill because the culprits involved in your illness have not been entirely removed. You must get out not only the implants, but the scar tissue as well. This is a no-compromise issue. There can be no compromise on the explant. It must be done to ensure all of the scar tissue is gone. Total capsulectomy at the least, en bloc if possible. Call them and let us know what they tell you. Guest guest
Thanks Patty. I actually found a therapist who believed that the implants were causing the attacks. Not that she believed that they were directly causing anything but the fact that i had myself so worked up over my symptoms. I only went to her twice before we figured out what it was i had to do, ex plant, but she still calls every now and then because she is interested in what will happen after the ex plant. Hey maybe i converted a doctor a along the way...lol > > > > > > > > Hi everyone....this is my first post...I have saline implants > > that I > > > > have had for about 14 months.
