Guest guest
I totally agree! Thank you.Sent on the Sprint® Now Network from my BlackBerry®Date: Mon, 26 Apr 2010 05:43:00 -0000To: <sList >Subject: Request a meeting with the area behavior specialist now Hi,yes, many behavior specialist positions were permanently cut three years ago, and we never got them back. However, each Area still has a couple of them(you need to know what Area you are in: North Area, South Area etc. just ask your school). This is a serious issue because it can happen again. Parents with kids who have behavior problems should request meetings with the teacher, the coach and the behavior specialist. The wait time for this meeting should not exceed two weeks. E-mail your school's ESE specialist and request a meeting now. If nobody asks for the behavior specialists, these positions may be cut. Although most autism coaches are capable of writing FBAs and PBIPs, it is much better to have a BCBA help dealing with it. After all, this is their special interest. You have the right to speak to your area's experts. Ask for a meeting one-on-one or have a teacher or coach present. Ask for advice regarding you child'd behaviors. Just don't wait.
