Guest guest
My 10 yr-old son's dr has suggested giving him Intuniv for his ADHD symptoms. I'm interested in hearing about other's experiences with this med.
Guest guest
Hello, My son is eight-years-old and has been diagnosed as having high functioning autism. He has been taking Intuniv since March, and the appropriate dose for his size was increased to his maintenance level of 3 MG. Intuniv is a 24-hour acting drug that stays in his system. Prior to taking Intuniv, we had been giving him 2 doses of Focalin per day. However, with the Focalin, we experienced periods of the day where it was too strong and then later not enough. Since the Intuniv is always in his system, he is more even in his behavior and ability to focus; he has become much more expressive and developed a heightened awareness for his peers. We have had a very favorable experience on it. The only transition for us was his increased appetite, since Focalin had suppressed it for so many years. Also, he had difficulty sleeping in the beginning as the doses changed levels from 1 MG, to 2 MG then 3MG. Happy 4th of July. April
