Hello,

I hope someone can help me with the following:

I have been diagnosed GD in october 2001, I first used Carbimazol and

starting from january 2002 30 mg of Strumazol and 0,1 mg of Thyrax.

I just discovered to be 8 weeks pregnant. My doc says there's a lot

of risk that the embryo has suffered already from the Strumazol, so

he advised me to have an abortus, which I will have on wednesday.

This is one thing I would like to know: what harm does Strumazol to

the embryo? Second question is that since 5 weeks or so I'm losing my

hair. It's really awful, every morning my pillow is full with hair,

and I cannot wash my hair without losing a lot. Does anyone of you

know if this may be a side effect of the Strumazol, too? My endo says

it may be a side effect, but that it also may be caused because my

thyroid levels go down. He wants to wait another week or two to see

what is going to happen, and if this continues, it is probably caused

by the medications. Hasn't it anything to do with my pregnancy, too?

I feel very sick since I am pregnant, very weak, nauseated, no

energy, I can hardly walk the stairs while I am a very sportive

person. I cannot even go to the gym anymore. I am so tired that after

work I eat and go to sleep immediatly, I feel awful. A month ago I

had a lot of problems with my stumach, but this disappeared after 4

weeks. Can anyone tell me what is happening to me?

My endo also told me that he may start the RAI-therapy if I continue

to lose my hair. Could anyone give me a list of the pro's and

contro's of this RAI-therapy? I am really afraid of this therapy, and

I want to be well informed before I start this.

Does the answer of anyone come to my hotmail account or here? My

hotmail: edormaar@...

Thank you!!
