Rogene, this is crazy because we do not wear implants. They are surgically implanted into our bodies. First they call them foam, and then they say that they are fuzzy...Dr. Blais will love this article, because he always calls anything from Brazil nutty. These sound the same as the Polyurethane to me. These sound like the same breast implants that have destroyed many lives...like mine....love you...Lea

FOAM-covered breast implants worn by South American women for decades are being heralded by Australian cosmetic surgeons as the safest new boob.

The furry-feeling implants made in Brazil have been approved by Australian authorities.

Specialists speaking at the annual cosmetic medicine conference on the Gold Coast yesterday said the implants would cut rates of a painful but common side effect of breast augmentation.

"We're calling them the super-furry Brazilians and the implication is obvious," said Dr Fleming.

"I'm predicting they're going to dramatically change the breast surgery landscape here because they cause far fewer problems."

About 8000 boob jobs are performed in Australia each year, at a cost of about $11,000, but one in 10 women who get the smooth or textured silicone implants will suffer from so-called capsular conjecture, when the membrane that grows around implants tightens like shrink wrap and squashes the implant, making it rock hard.

The furry implant reduced the risk of capsular conjecture by 400 per cent, without an increase in other complications.
