Lynda,

I am going to have too. Work gives me so much crap when I miss work

though. But there is no way I can work today, I feel like death

right now.

I called the dentist and the asst said everybody reacts different to

mercury removal, some are fine and some get really sick. I asked how

long, she said that depends too - great news, especially with my

immune system.

Pray for me...

Lynn,

I know you will get better.

I get the news today, I think, on what type of chemo and when,

probably by Friday I start.

We can both say prayers.

Lynn,

I'm so sorry! This sounds like a severe reaction to your dental

issues, and the stirring up of toxins and bacteria in your bloodstream

from your mouth.

If you had mercury removal, this dentist should have taken appropriate

steps to protect you, himself and his assistant. When I had my

amalgams removed, the dentist used a rubber dam (DID YOURS? THIS

PROTECTS YOU FROM SWALLOWING ANYTHING, including the vapors, from

mercury removal), he used a gas mask for himself and his assistant, and

I had a Vitamin C IV after the anesthetic was delivered.

If you didn't have much in the way of protection, then you should drink

lots of water, take lots of vitamin C, and if you have any cilantro,

eat as much of it as you can.

Patty,

He was a holistic dentist on the website you sent me. He did not use

a damn though. He they used an ionic vapor suction tube which was

place around each tooth to suck the vapors though. They did not do

the Vit C IV but did suggest I go to a ND to get one after. I

couldn't afford it thought it was like $250 for the first appt and

$150 for the IV txs (up to 10 recommended). They gave me the vitamin

C powder packs to drink, I drank two yesterday. As soon as I can

eat, I will take 3 more today.

Thanks for the advice. I took some tylenol now for the headache and

will continue pushing water and vitamin C, I don't have any cilantro.

I hope it passes soon, I feel horrible.

Lynn,

We'll be saying prayers for you . . .

Thankfully those toxins are out of your mouth . . . and hopefully out of your body very quickly.

I'm betting you will see a dramatic improvement in your health soon.

Hugs and prayers,

Lynn,Some people do have a very bad reaction to the mercury removal, but hopefully your dentist took all the necessary precautions to protect you as much as possible. If the right protocol is used, the reactions can be minimized.

At the very least, he should be telling you what you need to do to help get past this very difficult healing period! They need to be addressing your health concerns with the appropriate amount of advice and concern for your new symptoms. If they know that some people have a very bad reaction, they need to be armed to deal with it, not just let those people flounder without advice. Mercury amalgam removal is one of those things that can be done properly or improperly. Hopefully he did it properly. Here is a link on the protocol:http://www.mercurypoisoned.com/Safe_Removal_Amalgam_Fillings.pdf

I'm concerned about this reaction you are having! You may need to focus on some very specific mercury detox efforts and take some supplements to help you through this. I previously mentioned cilantro, vitamin C and water, but I think you might need to add some more specific supplements to help draw that mercury out. (Did your dentist tell you anything?)

I would recommend getting your hands on some DMSA as soon as you are able. DMSA is a chelating agent with an affinity for mercury, and will grab it and remove it from the body. Normally it is prescription only, but it is sold as Captomer by Thorne Research. I've used this Lynn. You can buy it here:http://www.naturamart.com/thorne-research-captomer-45-capsules.html

I've read that adding glycine to every dose of DMSA increases mercury excretion. You will want to use DMSA on and off, meaning you can take a 50 mg dose every 4 hours for 3 days, and then take 4 days off, then do it again. This will slowly and safely remove the mercuy.

You can also add alpha lipoic acid as a chelator, but carefully and not too soon. The safe way to use alpha lipoic acid is to take small doses (like 5-10 mg) every 4 hours, but please do not use it yet. If you do not see some significant improvement soon, then I would suggest reviewing Dr. Andy Cutler's mercury protocol and how he uses Alpha Lipoic Acid in mercury amalgam removal recovery, but I'd get some Captomer if your dentist is ignoring your needs.

http://www.noamalgam.com/

http://curezone.com/forums/f.asp?f=638 & p=1

http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/Andy_dose_sched.html#frequency (Dosing schedule, but please check out the page)

How long to wait after amalgam replacement before chelating:

for DMSA: at least 4 days for ALA: at least 3 months. ALA has specific risks because it crosses the blood-brain-barrier. It is riskier if used soon after mercury exposure (such as soon after amalgam replacement). This should be considered in deciding when to use ALA.

Lynn, I'm praying that this doesn't set you back. Hopefully you'll start to feel better soon. Take things slow and easy.

Rogene,

I can call and get an appt at a spa that has one. I hope I can make

it there though, I feel too sick to drive.

Good idea. Thanks.

Wow, Patty, this is a lot of info - thank you.

I called the dentist and his receptionist pretty much told me that

some people get sick and others don't. That I should continue the

Vitamin C packets. I asked how long and she said it differs between

patients. She said that maybe I could really have the flu!

I was not too happy with her response. I think I am going to call my

doctor. He is a ND as well as an MD. I may think twice about going

back to this place to get my remaining fillings removed. But he was

on the Holistic list and has the certifications as well, so I felt

confident in his work - nothing seemed abnormal.

Perhaps it is the infection that was in the tooth as well. I am on

antibiotics right now as I had to have my nipples worked on again

last week. Plus, with my immune issues I am sure it took its toll.

I will call my doctor now and see if he can't get me on DMSA or see

what he recommends.

Thanks again! I know I needed to get this out of my mouth and I

don't regret it. It is going to take some time to get healthy again

I have a feeling.

Lynda, we will pray that you will know soon, and that you get this chemo over with. Then you will be able to plan your trip to Hawaii. Years ago, when we lived in a condo, our neighbour was having chemo. Joanne had breast cancer, and she was not listening to her body, because she was having severe fatigue for some time. She had to have 25 treatments, and we used to count each treatment by marking them off the calendar...no breast implants, she knew what had happened to me. This lady worked for the Canadian federal government. When she moved away, she told us that she was retiring, but met her last year and she was still working. Chemo works, but it makes you sick, this is the bad part of it.

Honey, we all love you...hope that helps...love...Lea and

Hi CLynn,

I'm so sorry you're feeling so crummy! Probably from all the bacteria

that was stirred up yesterday. Just try to take it easy today, take

your Vit C and drink lots of water.

I don't know if you'll have to chelate or not but given that you have

so many amalgam fillings, chances are you will. Chelation will be good

for you in that once your metals are out, your body will have an easier

time detoxing all the other stuff.

Mercola suggested I buy the book Amalgam Illness by Cutler and

follow his protocol.

http://www.amazon.com/Amalgam-Illness-Diagnosis-Treatment-

Better/dp/0967616808/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?

ie=UTF8 & s=books & qid=1201710695 & sr=8-1

The book is $$ and a little too technical but I joined the frequent

dosage chelation forum where I seem to get better info. It's

based on Cutler's protocol only everyone starts out at 12.5 mg

DMSA rather than 50-100 as Andy suggests. If you do the DMSA, start

low...I can't emphasize that enough!!! I started at 100 mg and

honestly thought I was going to die or else take my own life because

the side effects were horrendous. Best to go low and slow from

everything I've read and 12.5 mg is easily tolerated.

The support group is frequent-dose-

chelation/ DeanNetwork is almost fully recovered. His advice is

excellent! He really knows his stuff. J also seems very

knowledgeable. The rest are just starting out like I am.

Other natural chelators are cilantro and garlic. Do not use Alpha

Lipoc Acid at this point because it can cause a redistribution of

mercury into the brain. First you want to decrease the body burden w/

DMSA, getting it out of the tissues and once that is done, you can use

ALA. This should all be done under the care of a ND.

Also, make sure you're taking fiber each day to help excrete the

mercury...although most mercury is excreted through the urine w/ DMSA.

I take Garden of Life Super Seed. Mercola said fiber is a must if you

have mercury. Another thing you can do to detox is epsom salt

baths...2-4 cups in a very hot tub. Sit in it til the water cools and

don't use soap or shampoo until the very end.

Hang in there, CLynn! I'm praying this resolves soon!! Love, PH

Hi ,

Here's an older post where Patty mentions where to get DMSA without a

prescription. Love, PH
