Guest guest
I had the same experience as you… all of my local Ethiopian restaurants serve on a large flat bread. : / JL The ethiopian restaurant Jaras (spelling?) In Portland, Oregon was very difficult- I didn't eat anything because it all came in/ on bread (you eat with your hands), and it was largely based on meat. (vegetarian issue, not celiac.) However, there was a vegetarian ethiopian restaurant in Boulder, Colorado that looked very promising- just weirdly worked out that i never ended up eating there. > > Anyone had any experience eating GF and lactose free at an Ethiopian > resturant??? The bread is called Injera and the authentic way (slow) to make it is to ferment teff flour (which has no gluten, IIRC) and make a batter. The " quick way " uses wheat flour. -- n : jt@... http://jt-mj.net In the beautiful Finger Lakes Wine Country of New York State! Warpstock X - October 12-15 2006; Windsor, Ont.
