Hi April- Congratulations on getting a date set! That is so exciting

and February 4th is right around the corner!

I'd say to give it a week after surgery before you resume your normal

activities. I had my surgery on a Friday and by the following Friday I

was out running errands. Be careful with lifting groceries, laundry,

etc. I had my hubby do all that for a few weeks. But, you should feel

okay with running errands, cooking, laundry, etc. after a week. Just take

it easy, don't lift, pull, reach, etc. anything heavy for a month.

Good luck! You'll do great!

Love, Krista

April - I am glad you got your date set - you are well on your way to feeling better!!! I have been explanted for almost 2 months now. I felt about 75% good and now that I am explanted I feel much better. Still dealing with some issues but overall feel much better. I agree with what Krista said. It took me about a week to feel good. I actually went home from my procedure feeling pretty good. It was nothing like my implanting surgery. I was never in much pain at all - just tired and sore. I know everyone is different but I will say for me that it was not painful or hard to recover from at all. I can also say I feel SO much better having them out of

me. I have not went through to much emotional stress regarding my appearance. I am much smaller but much, much happier!!!! It feels so good to sleep on my stomach now and not have to worry about my implants. I also have been noticing an increase in energy and overall feeling better the past month. Try to take it easy for a few weeks from heavy lifting but I would think you can resume most activity after 5-7 days!!!

Best wishes - I know everything will be great. Feb. 4th will be here soon and you can start to heal!!!!

Much Love,

Beth

Hi beth,

Its great to hear that you are doing so well. That really does give

many women like a April and myself who are coming up on explant

surgery peace of mind to know that good days are cominh real soon. I

personally can not stand laying around so the fact that you bouncred

back so quickly is reassuring. Did you have your implants under the

muscle?

- yes my implants were under the muscle. I also had 480cc saline implants so they were pretty big implants (although they did not make my chest that big which I never understood). I was SO nervous to have my explant done but it was sooo easy. I know everyone is different but I got home from my explant surgery and sat in the bathroom and helped give my boys (ages 1 and 3) a bath. Now I know that was not the best thing for me but the point is, I was able to do it. I was more sore on day 2 and 3 however - NO pain!!!!! When I had my implants put in, I thought I was going to die. I was in soooo much pain, it even hurt me to breathe!!!!!! I remember crying to my mom

and husband that I wanted to take them out the day after I had them put in that is how much pain I was in. Keep in mind, I had 2 kids, both BIG babies at birth and did it natural!!!!

You girls will do great. To be honest, up until the past week or so, I had some soreness still in my right breast under my armpit. It felt muscular and it is better now. However, when I had my implants put in, my right breast was the one that hurt worse and for longer. Basically, it just felt like I had been lifting weights and pulled a muscle.

Who is doing your explant???

Much Love,

Beth

ok seriously if you were in front of me right now i would kiss

you!...lol you have no idea how much better you have made me feel. I

had 475CC under the mucle as well. I am about 6 " so they did not

look enormous on me either. Sounds like we pretty much had the same

experience. When i came home from surgery i was fine the first night

but the secnond day i had to get my husband to get me out of bed. If

i even moved my eyes started tearing from the pain and i am not one

to whine about stuff like that, i have a pretty good tolerance for

pain so that was my main concern. I would assume if they had to cut

the muscle to put them in they have to do it again to take them out

and i mever want that pain again. Anyway Dr Feng is doing my

explant. I have not met her yet but I hear she is great. She is in

Ohio so i weil be traveling from PA with my husband and 3 year old

so i was concerned if i was going to be layed up in a hotel for the

whole time or if i could do sight seeing with my family. Dr feng

seems to think i will be fine the next day? Im not one to sit around

and do nothing so i hope she is right. You sound like quite the

little trooper yourself :)

Hi April!

Congrads on your surgery date! Feeling nervous is very normal and

you'll do fine. I felt pretty good after surgery, however the percocet

they gave me helped. I had fat transfers so my thighs hurt the most

from the lipo but the breast surgery was very sore at all. I live in

California and flew to Denver for my surgery and flew home two days

after surgery and did fine. Good luck to you and you'll be in our

prayers!

Hugs,

Cherie

April, I just had my explant and internal lift one week ago. I am still unable to open heavy doors or carry anything heavier than a purse. I still have alot of pain and soreness at night (in the morning I feel pretty good, but as I move around my pain returns) and if I have my sports bra off for any length of time (bathing). I tire very easily. I am just taking advil for my pain now, but am not back to regular activities yet. I had my implants under the muscle and had them for over 10 years. I think everyone is really different. I thought I would be back to work by now, but think I will be off for another week. I thought I would bounce back alot faster. The majority of the discomfort is from all of the internal stitching and the muscle being put back into its proper position. It makes it hard to move your arms at first. I wish you great luck with your explant April! Dr Melmed is a great surgeon and he does a fabulous job of

reconstruction. Katy:)April <april@...> wrote: Dr. Melmed will be performing my surgery on February 4th. I am excited and nervous!I was wondering how y'all felt after the surgery. How long should it be before I feel up to regular activity - cooking, cleaning, laundry,

errands, etc?
