Guest guest
Hi Carol....if this restless leg syndrome just recently started, I would think maybe you are low on potassium......eat bananas, leafy green vegetables, and raisons, all good in potassium. I was a RN before becoming disabled. I have the restless leg syndrome also but it comes from spinal nerve damage that I have....Also diabetics are prone to this. To start with, I would increase the potassium through diet, if that doesn't work in a week or so, I would mention it to the doctor. I know the anger well.....hang in there....love....judy RLS ok now have new symptoms-- shit-- I am pissed and angry ___ I can not quit shaking my legs, I feel like I need to wear them out, and it starts in the evening, it is not as bad as long as I get up, I think it is called restless leg syndrome. but I was wondering could the treatment have caused this?? even though I have been off now about 2 mos?? it is driving me crazy , as I am typing this I am shaking both legs as hard as they will go!!!! this just started in the last week, once just before Christmas now for the last two nights! anybody else have this. I also quit taking my celexa, so just now I took altram and celexa CAROL I am not senile!!!!my mind is a filing cabinet. The more information that I put in the longer it takes to sort through it and retrieve a specific file! Old people are not senile - it just takes us longer to process all those files

Guest guest
I take Mirapex for RLS, have you tried that? Patsy (63) AZ DX 2005 Stage 1 PBC AIH/SLE/RA [ ] RLS The new medication used for Restless Leg Syndrome is called Requip. It has had great success! Ask your doc if you can try it........ Guest guest
Joanne, I took your note to my Rheumatologist about Cymbalta, and by golly...I am thrilled! He wanted me to take it twice daily, but I can function better on only once a day. Since I don't take an antidepresant, I don't know about that side. However, I do take Requip, but am thinking that perhaps the Cymbalta will take care of it too. I was taking Mirapex for the RLS, but am thinking that perhaps it isn't actually RLS, but rather the problem with my spinal stenosis. I am thrilled with the Cymbalta...very happy with it and can't thank you enough for letting us know how it helped you! Debby [ ] RLS No, I never had to go on Requip or anything else as my two new meds for neuropathy have also stopped the RLS! I take CYMBALTA..that replaces my Lexapro for depression and also takes care of a lot of my fibromyalsia pain.that along with my other new medication for the neuropathy called Lyrica.works great. I can now sleep very well! AND, I can again walk........... It had been a long time since I was able to go for hikes and now I can........ today I walked about our woods for about 2 hours.was wonderful.and only sat twice! Not bad....... Anyone else tried these meds? Joanne ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ No virus found in this incoming message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Guest guest
Dear Debi.... it depends what kind of shape you were in before surgery. I've seen people walking normally within 1-3 months, while those of us who have atrophied muscles, twisted posture, etc. will need lots more time. I had a THR in October, another in January ... I'm hoping to be able to walk with a cane by Summer. Your PT will be able to advise you best... Guest guest
Have you tried Requip, that is what I am on.A lot of people that have hep get fibromialgia. That is where you are sore in many places in your body whether it be bone ,mustle and joints. With it comes Irritated Bowel Syndrome where you are either constipated or going to frequently.Restless leg is also one of the signs of fibromilagia. The Requip helps control the restless leg and actually helps with the constant pain.Hope this helps. Guest guest
Hello, Any advice on restless legs? I could not stop moving them last night. I know we have discussed this before but can't remember what was recommended. Thanks. Clynn
