Guest guest
How about right when he wakes up and at bedtime? That's when I give 'empty stomach' type supplements. I know what you mean about grazing. Terri At 05:52 PM 2/25/2005, you wrote: >It is in a " vegetarian " capsule. It also says to take between meals. I have given OLE with food and without food. I have never noticed a difference. If you want to give it without food, you might consider giving it just before bedtime. My Natural Factors brand OLE says each capsule contains 500mg and has 15% oleuropein. > I have found it in liquid and capsule form and wondered how it tastes > and if it can be easily masked in order to give to a child (who doesn't > swallow pills). Tastes nasty, according to #1 who wanted to try it once. He gagged really badly. For my #3, who hates [understatement] swallowing pills, he chooses to have everything mixed into peanut butter and honey. He will make a wry face if I include OLE into the mixture, but he knows the alternative is the dreaded capsule, so he eats the mixture. Guest guest
My son routinely takes GSE, Virastop, and about once a week, 1-2 doses of a prescription antibiotic. (He also frequently takes Nystatin.) When he is getting sick or has a virus, I always add OLE to this and it seems to really help, although he gets somewhat stimmy and slightly OCD from it, as well. After several weeks of experimentation, I have found that for my kids, the following combinations of anti-virals work, in the following ASCENDING order of effectiveness 1. ViraStop alone 2. ViraStop plus Lauricidin 3. ViraStop plus Olive Leaf Extract 4. ViraStop plus Lauricidin AND Olive Leaf Extract 5. All of #4 above, plus Colostrum/IGG That last combination above is WONDERFUL! I also add Candidase and No-Fenol and probiotics for yeast. Dana

Guest guest
> > Dana, > how much olive leaf extract do you give? My daughter is only 19 lbs so I gave her less than a 1/4 capsule (a little over 100 mg). I started my kids with 250mg per day, altho they are older than yours. The highest I have given is 4500mg per day for #2 for several months. Dana
Guest guest
Yes, that is why we follow with GSE, but then again, we have this ongoing rotation and you may not want to jump on that roller coaster. olive leaf extract has been bouncing my emails so I don't know whether this went through-- someone wrote that OLE aggravates yeast, is that other people's experiences? Thanks,

Guest guest
I hate to bother you with this question, I'm still pretty new to this and learning. I've heard of olive leaf extract ( on this chat website ) what does it do, and why do you give it? Guest guest
> Is there anything that OLE cannot be given in conjunction with? The amino acids glycine, lysine, histadine, and cysteine (including n-acetyl-l-cysteine) may interfere with the action of one of the components of Olive Leaf Extract. Therefore, don't give it with those aminos. > How much would I give him and how often? He weighs about 100 pounds. I would start with 250mg, increase to 500mg if required. Also give a lot of vitamin C, maybe some CLO or other vitamin A also. Dana
Guest guest
I have used Nature Way OLE capsules. For those that can't swallow there is OLE liquid available. Yes, you can and probably should take it with virastop. I found that it works well at bringing out viruses, and then we end up using virastop to help kill them off quicker. It eases the misery as the viruses come out. Be prepared for her to be irritable! > > What forms of OLE are people using? What if your child can not swallow pills??? Any recommended brands? I believe the FAQ recommends two brands - Seagate Products and East Park. Both come in capsules. Ethel > > > **************Wondering what's for Dinner Tonight?
