Guest guest
Hi Cherie, This page describes what happens during a colonic. http://www.optimalhealthnetwork.com/pilot.asp?pg=Colon_Therapy It definitely doesn't hurt but it's not what I'd call comfortable either. The worst feeling is just feeling like you have to go to the bathroom really badly but then the water washes everything out and you feel relief. The worst part for me is just the dumb small talk the therapist engages in while trying to shove a tube up you...it's like they're trying way too hard to pretend like this is a normal everyday event...well, I guess for them it is...not for me!! As far as feeling better, my energy has improved but it hasn't affected my brain fog or vision yet. Yesterday some old layers of fecal matter were removed which is an improvement because it's the old layers that cover the intestinal tract, trapping bacteria and preventing the digestion and absorption of food. As long as that's there, it's difficult to get rid of the candida overgrowth. So, yes, it's very beneficial but it takes a while to notice a difference. You feel lighter when you walk out, that's for sure. Based on what I've read about digestion and immune function, I highly recommend it. Don't eat anything within 2 hours before the colonic. Afterwards I drink a large glass of water and take plenty of probiotics. You also want to eat lightly for your next couple meals...juice, salad, or soup...nothing heavy. It's also more economical to buy packages. I usually get a package of 3 and use it up over a period of 10 days. Then I wait a week off and get another package. Guest guest
Thanks Ph, You've been really helpful! I guess I'm just dissappointed that it takes a long time before you feel better, I have spent sooo much money already. Sometimes I feel like I'm just throwing my money away because nothing I've tried helps me feel better, not even the diet. So I'm apprehensive about this too. I will give it try though. Guest guest
Hang in there Cherie - it took me at least 6 months to see a big enough difference to really think I will be normal somebody. It was honestly a day by day thing for me, then it became a week by week, then I was getting better and it was a month by month thing. Now the biggest thing I struggle with is when I have a set back!! It is like day 1 again, but I have to remember that I had those toxic implants for 7 years and it is going to take a while before my body realizes they are gone and it can get to heal itself. I still have bad days and weeks but they are nothing compared to how I was pre-explant. I guess I take the good with the bad. I am with you about spending more $ though. I am up to my ears in implant debt and all the ND stuff is not covered by my insurance. I am going to get a colonic as soon as I can afford one. I do think health begins in the colon my needs a roto-rooter. Guest guest
Thanks Lynn, I am in great need of encourgement! I actually talk to the woman who I was referred to for the hydrotherapy today and she thinks my ND has overloaded me with supplements and that may be why I feel so crappy and exhausted. I will be seeing her in two weeks and she wants to spend the first hour with me just to go over all my history and everything I'm taking and then she will probably change the protpcol that I am doing. She knows my ND real well so she will talk to him after she see's me and let him know her recommendations. I am in HIGH hopes that she can help me. She says she takes this real slow and isn't even sure if my body is ready for the hydrotherapy yet. I am real interested in what she say once she see's me. I'm going to cut back on some of these supplements except the probiotics until I see her. I just might feel a little better. Guest guest
Cherie, Do you have a positive ANA too? Or have you had that checked? Reason being, I was reading on one of the Lupus boards that supplements can take a toll one those with a bad auto-immune - unless you are supervised and taking the correct ones. My auto-immune is messed up right now. Not quite Lupus yet but heading that way. I do know that when I take supplements, I FLARE! I feel like crap-o-la. For awhile I thought it was herxing, now I think it is my auto-immune screaming at me. When I am off the supplements, I feel much better. So I only take the ones I really need - right now I don't take anything but synthroid as the vitamins even bother me. I need to try a liquid form to see if I can tolerate them? I am hoping that in a few years my auto-immune will chill out and I can talk supplements, but for now they just make me feel worse. I bank on a good diet, light excercise, massage and foot baths. I really want a colonic though - bad! Oh, and I will do a coffee enema. I feel your pain sweetie! We can get through it together. Love, Lynn > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi Ladies, > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I saw my ND today and he is recommemending that I have > > colon > > > > > > > hydrotherapy done. Guest guest
Hi Lynn, How are you doing? Was your ANA ever negative or has it always been positive? Why do you think you're heading towards lupus? I still have some aches & pains but my ANA is negative. I'm not sure what the aches are from. Steph > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi Ladies, > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I saw my ND today and he is recommemending that I have > > > colon > > > > > > > > hydrotherapy done. Guest guest
Hi Steph, Do you know what your ANA was? I know Dede's was negative but she told she had Lupus. So, I am not sure about the whole negative positive thing. Mine ANA was 1:160 and a few months later 1:360. Some of the other tests they use for Lupus were negative though, but on the verge of being bad! I went to see a rheumatologist and he told me that due to my labs he could see me developing a mild form of Lupus in the future. I don't know how I am suppose to take that?? He said if I ever have a really bad flare, to call him and he will prescribe drugs. I am hoping that this auto-immune crap that I have and that they don't know what to label it - will go away with detox and good diet. But knowledge is power and I have learned that due to my auto-immune issues I do need to watch what I eat and what supplements I do take. If you have seen a rhuematologist and he told you that you do not have Lupus, then I would not worry Steph. My regular doctor was the one who took the ANA tests but didn't know what to make of them. I am then one that took them to a rheumatologist to get them analyzed further. All my primary doctor wanted to do was to put my on psych meds!! I know I wasn't making this crap up in my head, so I went elsewhere and this is what I found out. It is not fun! But I am going to do everything in my power not to develop Lupus, and if I do and it ever gets bad I will take meds to protect my major organs. Right now I am not going to think about that. What sort of doctors are you seeing? I am sorry you do not have answers but sometimes this implant illness can mimic so many other illnesses! Your body needs to purge the toxins left by the implants. Love, Lynn > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi Ladies, > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I saw my ND today and he is recommemending that I > have > > > > colon > > > > > > > > > hydrotherapy done. Guest guest
My dr said that my test was negative and there weren't any antibodies. My dr wanted to give me meds to for depression and I say no way. I do get aches & pains occasionally so that's why I had the ANA done. My ND gave me the lab for it but I still want to talk to a rheumy about it so I have an appt on Monday. Was your ANA negative or positive when your regular dr had you take the test? It's crazy that your regular dr didn't know what to make of the results. What kind of flares do you have? Steph > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi Ladies, > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I saw my ND today and he is recommemending that I > > have > > > > > colon > > > > > > > > > > hydrotherapy done. Guest guest
Steph, My ana was equivicol - which is not negative or not positive. A negative ANA does not mean that you do not have Lupus. I am not saying you do, but there are many women on Lupus I joined for a short while with a negative ANA and Lupus. Do you know what your ANA number was? I have copies of all my labs, you should do the same. That way you can tell if they improve or not in the future. I just asked my doctors to send me copies and they did, right away. I have a file. If you have a super low ANA number, then I would not be too worried. So, you need to find out what that number is. Plus, it might mean nothing but implant illness right now. Regular doctors do not deal with auto-immune issues. This is more of a specialization - like a rheumatologist or endocrinologist. I think a family doctor knows just enough to be dangerous. I think the SOME specialized doctors just want us on drugs though. My aches and pains come and go too. This is what scares me about Lupus. With Lupus you can flare and have all the aches and pains and then go in to a remission. But this is the same with implant illness too. It is hard to say what is going on with you. Poor thing. I know how it can be, I am right there with you sweetie! It sucks! One symptom goes away and a new strange one pops up. Oh, my flares I get super fatigued. I have muscle and joint pains. Short term memory sucks too. Then I feel better for a while. Comes and goes, I hate it. Love, Lynn PS... I need to send you a My Space friend request. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi Ladies, > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I saw my ND today and he is recommemending that I > > > have > > > > > > colon > > > > > > > > > > > hydrotherapy done. Guest guest
Lynn, I have not had my ANA tested. Does my MD order that or my ND? I'm just like you with the supplements. I decided tonight that I am going to cut back on these this weeks and see if I started noticing a big difference. Ya know what made me feel better tonight.....Ben and Jerry's ice cream. Took my lower pelvic pain away tonight!! Do I feel quilty? Heck NO!!! I need to do this once in a while. I am on the strictest part of the diet right now and dang....it's hard. I'm sure you can relate! Yes, we can get thru this together! Guest guest
Hi Lynn, I called Quest Diagnostics and they told me that the test just came back negative and didn't have any numbers at all. Are there any other tests for it? I'm just scared because this past week I was completely fatigued and I couldn't even go to work. Steph > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi Ladies, > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I saw my ND today and he is recommemending that > I > > > > have > > > > > > > colon > > > > > > > > > > > > hydrotherapy done. Guest guest
Hi Cherie, Sorry for the late response, I had to work today. Oh, I have had my guilty pleasures too. I don't feel guilty either. Sometimes I just need it for my mental health - so I can relate. I think a regular MD has to test that. If you get it, let me know. I will pray it is low and negative. But this could explain issues with supplements??? Guest guest
Hi Steph, I am not real sure. I am sorry. You need to ask your doctor. That is crazy that they can't give you a number? Hum, I would ask my doctor and not the lab. Sorry you are feeling so bad. It takes a while to feel better. It took me at least 6 months for my fatigue to go away. I am not 100% by no means but I can live a 1/2 way normal life - like I can do laundry and work (woo hoo). Guest guest
Lynn, IMHO, you really need to go with your gut feeling when you do something and it makes you feel worse. . . . That's one reason to journal everything so you can figure out the triggers. Something about those supplement is making you feel worse (beyond a herx) . . . check the labels carefully so you'll be aware of other things you're taking that may have the same ingredients. . . . Then you may be able to isolate what makes you worse. One thing to watch for is Silicone Dioxide. . . If you are hypersensitive to it, it could make you feel much worse. Guest guest
Thanks Lynn. My appt was rescheduled for Wed because the dr was out sick. Also, my primary dr called me today. My test results for mono came back positive. He said that the antibodies that are found are called heterophile antibodies and I tested positive. Have you ever been tested for mono? Guest guest
Hi Ladies, Had my first colon hydortherapy today. It wasn't too bad actually. It gets a little uncomfortable and you can get some cramping, which I did however it is tolerable. Not to sound too gross, but she did get a lot of very large chucks of old stuff off of my colon. I was pretty amazed. She said that no wonder I've been in soooo much pain. She was very surprised on how much came out of me on my first visit......I wasn't, didn't surprise me at all! She says that I am extremely clogged and will really benefit from these treatments. I brought my two bags of supplements in and she said to stop taking all of them for now. She said that I am way too overloaded and my body is not absorbing them anway. She also told me that she did not see any candida die off come out. She said it may come out later but so far she did not see any of it. I need to go back on my candida/gluten-free diet. She sent me home with a liquid protein and some enzymes that I only take once a day. My body is not ready to take an enzyme at all meals yet. I see her weekly and I'll see how I start feelng in the next few weeks. I liked what she had to say and agreed with her protcol for me so I will stick with her for a while. I have question, she told me that the Ezekiel breads are gluten- fee.....is that right? I have been eating that bread for a while but it does not say gluten-free on the package however it is flourless. Hope you are all doing well! Wish me luck.......I am being healed! Guest guest
Cherie, This is wonderful news, thank you so much for sharing! As soon as my hemmarrhoids heal (from the incision), I am going to have a colonic. I know I have some huge issues, I am sure I will shock her with what comes out too! This is encouraging news!! I have also stopped the supplements for now. I need to wait until I get my digestive system healed. I do plain keifer and yogurt but that is about it right now. I also tested positive for gluten, and I have been gluten free since Thursday and I can tell - my joints feel better! Hugs, Lynn > > Hi Ladies, > > Had my first colon hydortherapy today. Guest guest
Cherie - I am glad you are feeling comfortbale with the protocol you are on right now. I pray you find relief with these treatments and start feeling like your old self again soon!!!! MUch Love, Beth Colon Hydrotherapy Hi Ladies,Had my first colon hydortherapy today. She says that I am extremely clogged and will really benefit from these treatments.I brought my two bags of supplements in and she said to stop taking all of them for now. She said that I am way too overloaded and my body is not absorbing them anway. She also told me that she did not see any candida die off come out. She said it may come out later but so far she did not see any of it. I need to go back on my candida/gluten- free diet. I have question, she told me that the Ezekiel breads are gluten-fee.....is that right? I have been eating that bread for a while but it does not say gluten-free on the package however it is flourless.Hope you are all doing well! Wish me luck.......I am being healed!Hugs,Cherie Never miss a thing. Make your homepage.
Guest guest
Cherie, Saturday morning my doctor lanced one of the rhoids to get the clot out, it was so thrombosed. So, until I can get that to quit bleeding, I can't get a colonic. Why do you have to blend your soup? I have to do the yogurt as I have been on so many antibiotics lately that I need to build up the good bacteria again. With my new food allergies, I have to eat a lot of fish now too. Sounds like we have so many similar issues. If you don't mind, please keep me in the loop with how you feel after these colonics. Thanks so much. Guest guest
Hi Lynn, Oh my, I'm sorry that you had to have that lanced. That must have been painful! I will keep you posted on this treatment, I know that you would benefit from it too! I have to put the soup in the blender before I eat it. I'll see how it goes. I hope you heal fast my dear!
