Guest guest
I emailed him and told him that I wanted him to do my surgery but was concerned about the capsule and wanted to be certain he'd do all he could to remove it. He replied and said he ALWAYS tries to remove the capsule, even with saline. He says sometimes it is very thin and falls apart and removing all of it can cause excessive bleeding. But he gets out all he can w/out posing a threat to the patient. After I read his email I talked w/my husband and told him that I thought Dr. M said he routinely uses the scar tissue to form the breast instead of removing it. But my husband said that I misunderstood him. What Dr. M said was that he recently did a surgery where he did that b/c the woman had no breast tissue at all. He did it after talking over the pros/cons with her and it's what she wanted. This made much more sense to me based on the other things we'd discussed that day and the other good things I've read about him. Phew! ) I guess that is the benefit of having another person there with you - we all hear things different ways. I should have discussed it more w/my husband before posting what I did. I apologize for the confusion. April
Guest guest
April, Just be sure that Dr.Melmed commits to remove every bit of capsule possible . . . En bloc if at all possible! I don't think you misunderstood him the first time . . . Did he know you belong to this group? Hugs, Rogene
