Hi,

I have read a lot of your stuff on the posts and also on the web sites. I

think some of it is very good although very hard for me to manage. But the

one thing I hate to keep seeing come up is the blood type diet. I have

seen the book and heard about it from a friend of mine from meditation

class. But there is now way I can take seriously a diet that says I have

to eat meat to be healthy.

Obviously this doctor did not research with vegetarianism in mind. I find

the human body not to be a carnivore and if anything is more an omnivore

but with very minute amounts of meat in the diet. But I won't do that

either. I believe the human intestinal system appear to be like a

herbivore. We have a long intestinal system. Eating meat makes it putrify

even quicker. AND PRODUCES TOXINS in the gut.

So even though most of your material looks very good, I feel it is tainted

by you standing behind the blood type diet.

Hi ,

This is how I look at this question.

I think that every one of us should himself make decision to eat meat or not.

Blood type diet has three list of the foods:

foods to avoid neutral foods beneficiel foods

------ ------ ------

------ ------ ------

------ ------ ------

------ ------ ------

------ ------ ------

------ ------ ------

------ ------ ------

You are suppose to eat foods that are neutral and beneficiel.

If you do not want to eat meat, you can simply move all the meat from

beneficiel and neutral group into the avoid group and you still have blood

type diet. :-)

here are the food groups:

http://home.sol.no/~dusan/blood_type.html

On the oter side, there are people that do want to eat meat.

For thise people is far more healhy to eat meat that is " beneficiel " , then

to eat meat that is " avoid " .

If you are vegetarian, you will be far less harmed with vegetable, grains

and beens that are good for your blod type.

I always say to people that they should adjust their diet to their belief.

If your blood type is A, the book does say that you are natural Vegetarian,

so I do not think that he (DrD) himself have anything against vegetarianism.

By the way, Dr.DAdamo himself have been living many years only on

vegetarian diet, so he must know something about vegetarian diet. (not

vegan)

That is all.

Best of health!

And I've studied nutrition for years now, about the only theory I DO

believe in at this point!)

Blood type A is said to thrive on a more vegetarian/vegan type of diet.

We supposedly don't have the proper digestive track for red meat, eggs,

and dairy. I feel best on lots of starchy whole grains and seafood. Red

meat makes me feel drugged and dairy foods seem to be what trigger my

candida symptoms most of all. I also have to avoid alcohol, which I

don't like anyway. Strong cheeses are my worst food.

My mother is a type O and when she cut out carbs, especially bread, she

thrived and lost a lot of weight. She was living on eggs, meats, and

veggies. She naturally craves those foods anyway and if she tries to eat

low-fat vegetarian style she never feels full. HOWEVER, I could eat 20

steaks ( yuck! ) and 10 bowls of salad but unless I had a few bits of

some starch, like some rice, I would have no energy and feel like I was

still starving.

So perhaps the real deal is to eat right for your type, as the book

says! Maybe the wrong foods weaken the immune system AND the candida

thrives on the poorly digested food?

This is what I take-

Digestive enzymes with Betaine

Probiotics

( THESE 2 products alone, I feel, have done me WONDERS!)

Grapefruit seed extract

garlic ( not now, however, lowers my blood pressure too much)

MSM ( THIS STUFF IS SUPER!!!)

Pau D'arco

Progesterone cream

I drink soooo much water now. At first I was getting a rash- I think it

was the candida moving out of my digestive track. I put tea tree oil on

the rash and for a couple weeks I have been symptom free. I also can eat

small amounts of dairy and be OK! That is a miracle to me- I give credit

to the probiotics for that one! I meditate and keep a positive attitude

now. My candida came on strongest when I was in a stressful part of my

life. I have learned to chill out and laugh more!

To be honest I never went totally into the candida diet for 2 reasons- I

do believe eating a type A diet is what feels best for me AND I had a

naturopath tell me that Candida is so smart it will find a way to adapt

to whatever diet you are eating in the long run anyway.

BUT type O's do thrive on a more meat/veggie based diet ANYWAY, so the

O's probably really DO need to eat the traditional candida way.

Just my own thoughts and experience so far!

SO happy to finally be losing weight...

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Ali,

I would say no. I looked through the O book, and though most foods are the

same as the candidia diet, sugar is not one of them. Sugar is considered

neutral, but for us, it is really bad. plus some fruits are allowed that are

pretty sugary. But beyond that the diets are pretty much the same.

So, let me get this straight... Eat the diet that's right for your blood

type, and then you don't have to do the candida diet?

I don't think that's exactly what is being said. I believe a

commonality is trying to be determined..i.e.;, 0 types need to

follow the diet specifically, A's may not have to be as strict.

Bottom line, we, nor the medical community, know enough about the

correlation to be able to make a specific statement about it.

==>Food combining is totally unnecessary. The authors did not

understand how the body works. The blood type diet also is

unnecessary. There is a Thumbs Down critique on both of these book

under " Book Reviews " at www.westonaprice.org.

Stacie,

I dont know what the blood diets are but I can tell you

after I eat I get real tired right away. I know this must

have to do with your sugars.

Hi girlsFor those who know me here know my little one Logan and the turmoil I went thru with him as a toddler with all the "silicone" issues as I breast fed him w/ salines w/ silicone shells that shed and he had all kinds of illnesses as a baby and small child ranging from constant fever, seizures, unexplained infections, mold exposure, hives, rashes, etc. It was horrible but I am so happy to say he has been incredibly healthy the last three and a half years - grown big and strong and willbe 7 in June. I am so relieved and am hoping it all worked it's way outand he will not have anymore issues... I can only pray... I am so thankful is is normal now and so healthy. I am blessed.Anyways - for anyone who may be interested in a few smiles....As I mentioned a few weeks back, he models and such now and just filmed a commercial a few months back which is just starting to air. It is pretty cute - I have put a link to it if anyon e would like to take a look for a laugh... he is in the "fishing" one for the Toronto Bluejays, as Hill at age 7.
