Guest guest
I have used Quest in Boca Raton (by the Boca Community Hospital). My 6 yr old non-verbal son has been getting his blood taken there for about 2 years. They are always very kind and efficient. You are able to make the appt. online and they are usually close to being on schedule. There is a very tall man who works there (his name escapes me) who is fantastic with my son. And he is quick, we are in and out before my son realizes what happened. And, like the other post, my son will having nothing to do with the band aid! If anyone has that kind of information can you please send it to me? My husband is at the local Labcorp with my 7 yr. old and it has been a disaster. For starters, their phone just goes to a recording that does not allow you to leave a message or speak to someone. It only gives you hours, directions etc. There are about 30 people in the waiting room and he has been waiting for a half hour despite our appointment. However, my experience with my son has been that the less people involved the better. Initially, we used to have this whole strategy for holding him down and it made it worse. The simpler the better and the better mom is, the better the child is with it. They feel us... I do know of a nurse who works specifically with our kids and goes to homes for labs and/or to do infusions. Not exactly cheap but he is sooo good and the kid doesn't even know what happened. > From: meandmyraingirl@ yahoo.com Sent: Thursday, September 03, 2009 8:10 AMTo: sList@ yahoogroups. com Subject: Re: Getting lab work > See if you can make an appointment. We go to LabCorp and with them you can make an appt online. Or call them ahead of time and ask to speak to a supervisor and explain your situation maybe they can accomodate you... Our insurance only covers going to Quest to get it done. Is there any advice on how to make this as easy as possible? He is not going to sit well and he's not getting any smaller. When I had lab work done at Quest, I had to wait an hour and a half at 6.a.m. (fasting is going to be a whole other issue too). Guest guest
I swear I have tried every Labcorp in Broward....not a good one to be had! Even at the hospitals we find it to be a difficult event given that he is a moving target but geez...they somehow manage to do it fast in the ICU??? So it is possible...
