2 CARD Staff Members Earn DoctoratesUM-NSU CARD Associate Director, Diane Adreon, and NSU Satellite Assistant Director, Sotelo-Bumberg, have both completed their doctorates from NSU's Fischler School of Education and Human Services. Diane and both have a hunger for learning that has enhanced their clinical work at CARD over the years, and as such, their contributions to our organization have been quite significant. The pursuit of their doctoral degrees is yet another example of their desire to keep learning, improving, and making a difference. We are all so proud of their accomplishments. With the addition of Diane and , this brings UM-NSU CARD's total doctoral level clinicians to 8!

Dr. Alessandri Appointed to New Position at UMThe University of Miami Department of Psychology announced that Dr. Alessandri has been appointed Director of the Division of Community Outreach and Development within UM's Department of Psychology. Dr. Alessandri began this new position on June 1st. As part of Dr. Alessandri's expanded responsibilities, he will continue to serve as UM-NSU CARD's Executive Director, but will also oversee a number of other community-based programs within his Division, including UM's FDOE-funded CHRIS (Children's Registry and Information System) and FDLRS (Florida Diagnostic and Learning Resources System) projects; the Ray Intervention Center; the Psychological Services Center; the Autism Spectrum Assessment Clinic

(ASAC); and PEP-C (Program for Emotional Problems in Children). Dr. Alessandri will continue to oversee all fiscal, administrative and clinical activities of UM-NSU CARD and will continue to see families at CARD during his clinical hours, but he will no longer be available for home, school, and community consultations as before.
