She is very thorough and knowledgeable and always doing research, going to conferences, etc. She has been doing this for a long time. She goes to DAN! conferences but doesn't necessarily do 100% DAN protocol -instead, she does what is researched, safe, and makes sense. She is seeing both of my kids. I had the MGB on 8/03 and weighed 270.?I am 5'1''.?My MGB was in Statesville, NC with Dr. Rutledge.? I had no complications.? I have had severe anemia since then and have had to have blood transfusions, iron infusions and will have to keep on top of it for life.? Right after surgery I did have problems with keeping some foods down and my diet did change forever.? I did the stages Dr. R told us to but then once I got to the Stage 3 and started experimenting with foods some just didn't go down properly.? The worst culprits were rice, chicken or turkey breast and baguettes. I can eat anything now as long as I eat it slowly and I do still have to be careful with any kind of dry or dense meat. (white chicken, white turkey and pork chops)? The only thing I still can't do is drink any type of sugary drink which includes orange juice, sodas or anything like that.? It just goes straight through me and makes me dump.? I would do it again in a heartbeat but make no mistake; it is a life change and it very well could have some side effects.?
