Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I had to lay really low for a long time, so haven't posted or read much on this board. I had my explantation done on Wednesday this past week, and got a lift as well. We drove 12 hours each way, and it was a push, but I would be happy to help anyone who has questions, based on my own experience. We stayed at the Embassy Suites hotel, so I could tell anyone about that, and could also recommend some good, cheap places to get good food, and where they are in relation to the hotel. We stayed pretty close to the hotel, but did venture out to get the food and some reading material before the surgery. We went to the CVS pharmacy just down the road on the way to Dr. Feng's clinic to fill the perscriptions I needed to have on hand, and they were pretty good. I ended up having the drains in from the surgery (6 hours for me) on Wednesday to Saturday evening, when Dr. Feng, God bless her tiny self, stayed late to take them out because they were so painful for me. I felt like I had snakes in my breasts for the next 24 hours, but they are feeling much better now. It's so good to be home. Guess I'm not a world traveller type! Belated Happy birthday to Rogene, too. I remember you saying my date was on your birthday, if I'm remembering right. Also you have all been in my prayers. Someone was coming out of surgery when I was being prepped to go in on Wednesday (I was the afternoon surgery). Was it anyone here? The thought occured to me, as I knew that some of you were planning on being explanted around the same time. One thing I did differently, and hadn't posted until now. I did not start to detox before the surgery. It just didn't feel right to me to be making the poisons come out of my fat tissues while I still had the main source of poison still inside me. I ate really well (for me, anyway) and felt like I was as strong as I was going to get going into surgery. I am drinking a lot of water, and went through a case of VT. spring water we brought with us plus some other spring water my DH had to go out and get for me while we were there, but I think it was all-important. Took my first real shower today, too. Yay!
