a doctor said that the saline implant has an inert silicone covering and that the total capsulectomy is usually for the gel implants. your thoughts?

No . . . You should get a complete capsulectomy regardless of whether you had silicone or gel implants . . . especially if you are symptomatic. . . Even saline implants have a silicone shell . . That shell sheds silicone particles as it ages . .. and organisms contained by the capsules are removed with the capsule.Hopefully your implants can be removed "en bloc" . . . That means removing the capsules with the implants still inside.Contrary to what some docs tell you, the capsule will NOT be absorbed by your body. . . It could mimic a cancerous growth - requiring multiple scans in the future.Hugs,Rogene

The doctor that you spoke to is very wrong. Does he have a lot of

experience with removing implants from women who are symptomatic?

Every single woman who has breast implants (whether saline or

silicone) has a capsule form around the implant. The body immediately

forms the capsule to protect itself from the implant. Overtime, the

capsules collect all kinds of foreign matter, chemicals, toxins, etc.

from the implant (again, doesn't matter if silicone or saline because

the saline is encased in a silicone shell.) If you leave the capsule

in, then those chemicals and toxins stay in your body. I'm not sure

why anyone would want to keep that nasty capsule.

Talk to some of the women on the forum and they can tell you what the

pathology report found in their capsules. I didn't send my capsules

to pathology, but a lot of women did and you would be horrified what

was found in them.....macrophage cells full of toxins and chemicals,

abnormal fluids, strange blood cells, etc. There is no way I'd leave

that in body, you're just asking for trouble if you leave the capsule

in.
