Guest guest
Hi Donna, Do you have a doctor now to prescribe cortisol and thyroid hormone? What doses? Have they tested for other associated things like DHEA and testosterone? What about female hormones? I don't understand these parts: > In 2005, a world-renowned thyroid doctor determined I had NO > pituitary function, >That is why I initially took a very small dose [.375 > mg Cortisol] in the evening to help me " level out " and sleep better. > But reading through the posts scared me on that, and I stopped it = > now don't sleep worth a dang. One doctor determined that you have no pituitary function, and gave you cortisol? Did you continue with the cortisol? When you say you 'stopped it' do you mean just the evening dose or do you still take cortisol now? I'm not familiar with the difference between the Cortef that I take and the bioidentical that I think you are talking about. Do you know how much of one is equivalent to how much of another? Do you think that there are advantages to bioidentical? It must cost a lot?? > I do have *bigtime* trouble sleeping – getting to sleep and STAYING > asleep – also having to get up to use the restroom at least once in > the night – usually wake up around 2:30-3am. Sleep problems is something that is frequently reported from 's patients. They often wake at about 2-3 am. I'm not sure exactly why. Taking a small evening dose of cortisol and being strict about diet to maintain steady blood sugar levels may help (for the diet part see " Amalgam Illness " p 122). Another possibility is diabetes insipidus. This is also described in " Amalgam Illness " . It is one of the things that I remember Andy said resolved with chelation when he was chelating himself. > Cortisol levels checked in early Fall 2006 show Ok range in morning > with it getting lower and lower as day progresses, until seriously > low in evening. How were these levels checked? blood? saliva? Do you have the results with units and ranges? I'll look at you hair test next. Sorry I'm so slow. I'm the group tortoise.
