Guest guest
Hi Debbie, So your doctor put you on the Flagyl for several years straight? Did the UC come before or after this? Also do you think there's a relationship to the PSC with the anti-biotics? Thanks, Jarad > > Barbara, I too use a variety of antibiotics to avoid problems. One caregiver, years ago, put me on Flagyl (metronidazol) three times a day, every day for several years. The end result was neuropathy. Once I started complaining about numbness & tingling in my extremities, we switched to using Cipro alternating with Flagyl - and only when the symptoms are extreme (as opposed to using them to prevent flare-ups). It works well. I also find that using mesalamine helps a lot during my worst attacks, too. > > Debbie in Seattle > UC '72, J-Pouch '91, chronic pouchitis, first abnormal LFT '99, PSC Stage 2 confirmed '05 > > > --------------------------------- > Talk is cheap.
