In my opinion there are many factors that can cause autism. Genetic predispositions that are accelareted by enviromental factors that include but are not limited to vaccinations. If I would have known more about vaccinations when my child was an infant I would have not vaccinated him.

I think the only thing I will support about Autism Speaks at this point is the awareness, my son has not benefited from any program or activity or any kinds of services. I worked very hard last year to raise some money for the walk, and was very dissapointed afer learning about the salaries.

We have benefited from ASA our local chapters activities, and I think that there should be an ASA fundraiser a walk or some other activity.

Well, my son is missing apart of chromosome 16 which is linked to his autism among other health issues. I believe it is genetic. I will do the walk and if asa had a walk I would do that as well.

I say.. autism speaks not for me... they are totally motivated to prove a genetic connection and unwilling to fund independent studies... of course.. their salaries would be in jeopardy if they did that! Lia
