Guest guest Posted February 7, 2008 Report Share Posted February 7, 2008 Steak-french onion Soup 1lb. of steak cut in one inch cubes 2 lb yellow onions 1 tablespoon flour 8 cups of beef broth 2 teaspoons chopped thyme salt to taste ground pepper to taste 6 3/4 slices of loaf of organic bread (French ex:) toasted 11/2 cups of fontina , or swiss cheese Directions Brown steak in oven or stovetop.....drain grease Add onion and flour.....mix well. Add Broth,thyme, salt and pepper.........Bring to boil ..then simmer.........cover for 30 minutes Place 6 ovenproof bowls on cookiesheet ...Ladle soup in bowls..............Place 14 toasted bread in each bowl and top with 1/4 cup of cheese to each bowl. Broil for 3-5 minutes until cheese is melted and crusty around the edges. YUMMY!!!!!!!!! You know what I am having for supper tonight. I havent had bread in months.Oh DEDE this is good for Heart on lowering Cholestrol and functioning. I thought you might want to try it. Who's never won?
