Guest guest
Hi Lynn, I'm sorry your experiencing this....their aweful!! I have had bad hemmrroids in my past, long before implants too. I use to be able to use preperation-H but mine would get so bad I have to use a perscription now. I have not had many at one time but I get one that is very large and extremely painful. At least try prep-H and see if you get relief. If thier not reducing in size within a few days, I get to the to doctor and a Rx. Hope you get relief soon my dear! Guest guest
Thanks Cherie, I will try some PH tonight. Gosh, it hurts really bad. I hope it helps. If it is not one thing, it is another. I was so proud of myself for doing the coffee enema! Probably not the best idea when I am constipated. Thanks again - I am freaking out here thinking I should go to the ER but too embarassed to do that! Guest guest
Lynn, No, don't go to the E.R.! I'm soooo anti-E.R.! I've never had them help me. The prep-H will at least take the itching away and make you a bit more comfortable, call your regular doc on Monday. Since this has happen to you, I am waiting to do a coffee enema now. I'm waiting to see the colon hydrotherapist first. I get hemmrroids very easily.....not wanting any right now! I'm glad you shared your experience...hang there girlfriend! Guest guest
Cherie, I was super constipated though. With the enema it forces everything out - and FAST! So, my stool was not the softest. Had I not been constipated, I think I would have been fine. I have tried the coffee enema before and didn't have any issues. If you are fatigued, they will give you lots of energy. If you are seeing a hydrotherapist, I would go ahead and see what they recommed. I bet it would be even better after having a colonic because the coffee could really do its detoxing job. My bowels are so plugged up! I need a colonic badly - this is what I asked for for Valentines date, how romantic huh. Guest guest
Lynn,The Calcium/Magnesium you buy will come with a recommended daily amount . . . Start there, then add one capsule a day until you either have diarrhea, or are regular. You body will waste anything you don't need, creating diarrhea. Chances are good you have a Magnesium deficiency . . . most of us do. Magnesium provides bone strength, nourishes the muscles, and helps with sleep. In my case, my feet burn when I'm deficient. You can continue taking it the rest of your life because foods are being grown on depleted soils.Epsom Salt is actually one type of Magnesium . . . Since Magnesium needs to be taken with calcium to benefit your body, I'd stick with the mineral supplement. Plain Epsom Salts is pretty harsh. I don't think your hemorrhoids would be very happy to have that thrown at them.Hugs,Rogene
Guest guest
Lynn,A good calcium/magnesium supplement will have the right proportions - Two parts calcium to one part magnesium . . .with vitamin D. There are quite a number of brands . . . many of which may be good. . . check with the staff of a health food store. . . There are some gel caps that may be absorbed faster . . . Liquid for those with serious absorption problems. . . Just avoid the cheaper preparations. . . You don't want to take something that your body can't utilize.A word of caution though . .. I've been taking Garden of Life Living Calcium for years. . . Because it's made from whole foods, it has lot of vitamin K in it. . . vitamin K helps the blood clot. It's a fat soluble vitamin that gets stored in the fatty tissues. . . Guest guest
Lynn,If you're prone to clots, check the label of all your supplements for K also . . .And . . . watch out for overdoing it with green veggies . . . including green powder. . . Certain greens, especially spinach, are very high in vitamin K.Since my hubby isn't crazy about salads, when we travel, I eat them for most meals when we're on the road - just before my PE. . . I thought at one point in time I read on here where there is a certain amount you should take of each....for example 1 part mag. to 2 part calcium or something like that. Also, where is a good place to get these? Can I just get the ones at the drugstore or should I order offline somewhere??? Guest guest
Rogene - sorry, I guess I should have read 1 more post first before I sent my last message!!!! Anyways, do you think people in general have a problem with Vitamin K??? Do most of the calcium supplements have vitamin K in them??? I noticed Walmart has a bottle of pills that says it is a Calcium/Mag./Vitamin D all in one. Would you recommend something like that??? Do you think this is something I should take everyday for the rest of my life??? Or should I maybe use it for a little bit and then stop to not get too much Vitamin K??? Sorry for all the questions. I think I have decided to try things on my own instead of going with my ND's supplements since it is so expensive. Do you know anything about the Garden of Life tea pills for metabolism? Apparently mine is sluggish and I am trying to speed it up. Guest guest
Beth, Diarrhea is from bad bacteria. I think I would fast, water only, for as long as I could, perhaps do a coffee enema, and then build up with probiotics. Magnesium will loosen your stools when you take too much, but if you are deficient in this mineral (as most people are), then you must supplement it. I don't think it will hurt. When you begin eating again after a fast, avoid anything with grains in it. Grains that are improperly baked and cooked have a coating on them that is tough on the system. Grains should always be fermented first, and modern baking does not do that. Many people today have bad digestion due to undiagnosed food allergies, and I think grains are one of them. Teas are good too....I drink lots of teas! Various kinds, but I love chai! I wish you healing Beth! Guest guest
No Beth . .. I don't think most people have problems with vitamin K at all.I don't care for WalMart's vitamins because I think they stock the lowest price supplements they can find - most likely from China. . . I won't use them. When it comes to vitamins, I look for quality rather than price. I would caution anyone not to take a large amount of Vitamin K for sustained periods. . . As in Garden of Life Living Calcium. . . I certainly wouldn't avoid it.When I can tell a vitamin is working (and when my feet stopped burning, I knew I was getting the magnesium I sought), I'm happy with it. What I overlooked was the amount of K it had . . . I had been taking Living Calcium for about six years.Vitamins A, D, E and K are fat soluble . .. That means that any extra the body doesn't metabolize gets stored in the fatty tissues. So, you can get too much. I used to bruise easily . . . something I realized, after my PE, is that I had quit bruising . . . If I had paid attention, I might have questioned it. . . I didn't. Even now, with a large dose of Coumadin, I'm not bruising. This is something I have to take up with my doctor tomorrow. Not that I want to bruise, I just wonder what's happening. If you're taking a good quality Calcium/Magnesium/Vitamin D product, you should be able to take it the rest of your life . . . If foods were grown in rich soils, you wouldn't need to take any vitamins. . . but they're not. The good news is that your bones should stay healthy. . . . My oncologist was ready to put me on medication to keep me from developing osteoporosis without even checking me . . . It was assumed that, if since I'm female and nearly 70, that I would have osteoporosis. . . I told him I wanted to wait for my bone scans . . . To his surprise, my bones are fine! I credit that to taking Calcium/Magnesium/Vitamin D. . . Many of my friends have been taking only Calcium and still developing osteoporosis. Guest guest
Beth . . . One place I would NOT buy vitamins is at a discount store. You can find excellent brands online and at good health food stores. Blue Bonnet is a good brand . . . but there are many others.Because Calcium/Magnesium/Vitamin D should be taken together, many supplements combine them in one pill. You don't need to figure out the ratio or take them separately.Rogene

Guest guest
Dede, You always find the lighter side of things and make me laugh - you are hilarious! I had like 4-5 of them the size of marbles coming out at one time!! It hurt so bad, I can't explain the pain. I pushed them back in but I haven't pooped since Saturday! I am such a mess with constipation. I have tried oatmeal, oatbran cereal, etc. - nothing! Not even the urge. Thanks for the smile. Love you, Lynn > > Lynn ~ > I had a marble sized hemrrhoid cut off in 1976 ! > long time ago ! ! he even showed it to me....lololol... > I had to sit on it for 3 weeks before I broke down > and went in to the doctor.
