Guest guest
a, Glad to hear you're seeing improvement. We all heal differently, so continue to listen to your body. I've definitely healed very gradually; it's been 2.5 years since my explant and right now I'm feeling the best I have in years. Guest guest
a, You know what's funny about it, after explant, I just started taking things in stride. Once my joints settled down, I dealt with the other symptoms as they came and went. When I was looking into getting explanted I wanted someone to tell me I'd get better fast, but once I was explanted I rolled with the punches and accepted the pace that my body was healing. I think sometimes after we're explanted, we make ourselves crazy because we want a sign that we'll get better, and I did that for a few weeks but then I realized there had been other times in my life where I was stricken with illness, and I remembered that eventually my body just worked it out - but usually it took years - so I just accepted that this was going to take a long time. It was just such a relief to have the implants out of my body, I hated them so much. I always had a weak immune system, so I got sick immediately after getting implants and it's taken me alot longer to get better than it ever did to get sick. I think the biggest thing for me was being able to work full-time. During the time I had implants (6 months) I was downsized and going to school full-time, and I was really scared that I wouldn't be able to function when I got a job. I had a really hard time in school because of all my symptoms, but after explant I got straight A's and made the Deans list (I was getting A's and B's with implants, which is a miracle because I was physically and mentally in anguish). I got a job about 5 months after explant and even though I still had symptoms, it mentally made me feel like everyone else again. Guest guest
a, That's exactly how it was for me - I'd feel good, then I'd have a flare up and I'd cry, but then a day or two later I'd feel better. I did notice that cleaning products caused flare ups, as well as getting my hair highlighted.
