I haven't heard of that one before... but it makes perfect sense.Thank you for sharing that.Best, Abby So I’ve been struggling with the whole “stop when you’re full” part of IE for a while now. But this week, I think I’ve made a bit of a breakthrough and thought I’d share. If I rely on cues from my stomach, I miss them completely. But I noticed that partway through a meal, eating starts to become more work, not as easy as it was when I began the meal. Or sometimes halfway through, I find I need to add more salt or pepper or parmesan cheese to make the meal taste as good as it was to start. It hit me – these are my body’s cues that it’s done. My stomach won’t catch up with my mouth for a while, so I have to pay attention to the mouth cues. Granted, I haven’t practiced this much yet, but the times I tried it this week, I felt full but not stuffed if I stopped when I realized the food was less enjoyable and more work that it was to begin with. Determining what comfortable fullness feels like for me has been a real challenge as well.
