They start with a mix of benadryl and steroid (methaprednisone, something like that) and saline, wait 15 minutes, then the Iron Dextran. Any allergic side effects would happen during the first 15 minutes...I'm happy to report nothing happened! But what a long day...huge bag of the stuff. The nurse told me I might wake up " tanner " and my nails darker...how's about that!?!?!? Slept a lot. She said they should see an improvement in my CBC before I'll feel it! I get to do this again next week Wednesday. Been nauseated a bit now...but it's easing. So, now I'm the resident expert on iron by IV...big whoop! So, how is everyone feeling tonight??? Lem, you ok? The kids ok after the accidents? Vicki...you? How'd your appt. go? Zanna...did you do to the doc??? Dawn, you can have my chocolate tonight, ok? Melita, when do you start back to work? Annette, any more great lunches? Gee, Anne-Marie must really be busy... I know I've forgotten a few...but hope all in all this has been a good Monday!
