She died on Friday, February 1. Her death was sudden, and the coroner has attributed it to renal failure. As I recall, she left GH because they really weren't doing anything with her character. They had started to develop a plotline where Amy Vining would finally have a boyfriend. I remember a scene where Amy was concerned that the guy would discover that she'd had breast implants... She was near the Nurses' Station one day and turned to walk towards a patient's room when someone sort of ran into her, and accidentally jabbed her in the breast. She had a lot of pain that lasted several days, so she finally saw a doctor and there was something about an implant developing a leak... She had put off seeing the doc, and was concerned about her new boyfriend finding out about the implants... Anyway, just as that storyline was about to take off, the show ditched it to do a -Quartermaine-has-breast-cancer storyline. Lacy Afternoon is the name of Shell's business; and it did very well. It generated multi-million dollars in sales each year. She was a very wealthy young woman.

As we all know, kidney issues are soooo common with implants! I had more trouble with my kidneys when I was ill from implants....before implants I never, NOT ONCE, had any issues with my kidneys. Since healing, I've not had any more issues with my kidneys. But there was a period of time, probably 3-4 years where I had kidney infections often.
