Guest guest Posted February 9, 2008 Report Share Posted February 9, 2008 Hi Steph, No, they don't hurt at all, in fact they are relaxing. The tube is tiny and flexible so no big deal. It takes a little practice though...sort of like putting in a tampon. Now it's second nature but it took a couple trys before it became no big deal...and mostly it's just learning to deal with the long tubing, setting up your space, adjusting the flow. This is what I found to be the easiest for me: I set up a thick exercise mat on the bathroom floor or outside the bathroom and put a flannel sheet over it and a pillow. I put a chair next to it. I fill the bucket, making sure I get the coffee as far down the tube as possible so that you don't get air. Then I put KY on the tip...excuse the details but I'll tell you anyway, just because this makes it easier! OK, so I bend over in front of a full length mirror for insertion...sorry if this is TMI but seriously, it makes the whole thing easier and quicker!!! Then I put the bucket on the chair and lay down on the mat on my right side. I let just a little in at a time (you control the flow w/ the clamp). I find if I let a ton in at once I cramp so I go slow. I put about 1/3-1/2 of the bucket in. I hold it for a few minutes, then get up and release in the toilet. I do the whole thing again w/ the rest of the coffee, but this time hold it for 15 minutes. It took me a while before I was able to hold for 15. Then clean the bucket w/ soap followed by bleach. Takes about 1/2 hour total for the whole thing. Best detoxifier out there! Oh, I also use my Ipod or read while I do it or just meditate and pray. Makes you get rid of the " I can't believe I'm doing this-feeling! I worry about using too much bleach and corroding the plastic or leaving behind too many toxic chemicals for the next time I use it.
