Guest guest
Recently I've been reminding myself that snacking is not a bad thing. I have a tendency to not enjoy grazing all day, as I'm busy doing other things, plus it somehow feels like I'm doing something I'm not supposed to. But then I get to evening time, after dinner, and I find myself craving sweets... I just realized yesterday that the issue is that I'm just not eating enough during the day! I've been trying to eat more at my meals but I hate how that feels. So now I'm working on legalizing snacking! " They " say it's healthier, anyway, right? Hi Cheryl, I'm trying harder to eat bigger meals that fill me up so I don't need to snack, as I have the same problem. I'm also trying hard to eat mindfully (consciously). As soon as I realize I'm eating without paying attention, I stop for a while, even if I'm still hungry. When I feel like I can pay attention again, I'll eat a little more. Guest guest
If grazing works for you, and you don't like being overly full at meals, then I think you should stick with the grazing. You might also pay more attention to how much protein you're eating. I have a tendency to eat a lot of complex carbs that fill me up quickly but don't last long, and not enough protein. I'm trying to be more conscious of needing to eat at least a little protein at each meal so I'm not hungry all the time. Guest guest
Hi Abby, Rather than three large meals a day, maybe five or more smaller meals a day might work better for you and will keep your blood sugar level. Personally, I see nothing wrong with a snack. Sometimes a graham cracker with a little peanut butter really hits the spot! Jeanne
