Guest guest
Lynn, this is all so very sad. I knew nothing about this tragedy, because I have been so sick in bed with the worst GI ever. I was too sick to watch the news or any telivision. Honey, we are all so happy that your family were saved, and your precious dogs as well....they are family. I hope that you will be able to get to your home to let your dogs know that you are safe. They must be so afraid. Stay safe sweet Lynn....love you....Lea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`` I am okay.... Thank you for all of the prayers and concerns! We are staying at a hotel in a nearby town because we have no power and there are gas leaks everywhere in the town. It has been a very scary day to say the least. Jon and I were at work when we heard hail. We are in a mostly glass building and both work on the 3rd (top) floor. My mother and two sister-in-laws all work there as well. We were all watching the hail out the windows worrying about our vehicles. The hail turned from golf ball size to baseball very quickly - I have never seen anything like it. They skies turned black! It was announced over the intercom to head to the nearest safety zone - which for us meant a stairwell on the 3rd floor. We had no idea there was a tornado warning, we thought it was a severe storm with hail. Then somebody came in to the stairwell and announced there was a tornado heading straight for our building. The lights went out and it was pitch dark and so scary. My husband was in the stairwell at the opposite side of the building, my mother in a bathroom and my two sister-in-laws were in my stairwell on lower levels. I was a mess! Jon made his way to my stairwell to be with me and I found my mother and both sister-in-laws. They didn't let us go for hours as the building was very damaged and glass everywhere. My new Nissan appears to be a total loss. There is heavy hail damage with windows out. The subaru we bought my husband with $5k cash about 6 months ago is demolished! We only had liability insurance Both cars were in the parking lot where we work. Our house was not damaged. My pets were fine too. My parents home didn't fair as well. They lost their garage and their siding is damaged beyond repair. Lost all the windows on one side of the home and trees. In fact, the roof of a dug out from a baseball field more than 5 blocks away is in their front yard! My brothers house had pretty extensive damage as well. But all of my aunts, uncles, cousins, sister, brother... etc are all alive and safe. I have about 30 family members (at least) in Windsor. We were very lucky. We can replace the monetary things - so we are blessed. I don't know when we will have power. So, I will check back when I can. Oh, and Krista & Lynda - Bob Kendrick from 9 News was in my parents front yard!! I made the news! I looked horrible and they spelled my last name wrong.Love you all!! Thank you so much for the posts. Guest guest
Hi Lea, I am sorry you are so sick. I will pray for you. Our dogs and cat are okay. I have many family members in Windsor - in fact my cousin and his family live across the street. They have family with a farm near town so they offered to take our pets last night. I got a phone call that they dogs did great. We did leave Eddie the cat at home but he should be fine. What is so funny is that on the local news here my cousin, aunt and I all made the news. They keep showing my cousin's interview in my parents back yard and they keep saying that my parents cat " Leo " was finally found and safe. It is funny to hear them talking about what a good story that " Leo " was found. We should just fine. Our cars are total losses but our house withstood the storm. Love you Lea! You take care of yourself. Lynn > > Lynn, this is all so very sad. I knew nothing about this tragedy, because I have been so sick in bed with the worst GI ever.
