Guest guest
Hi April, It's been 2.5 years since I've been explanted, and during the first six months after explant I actually felt worse, but then the tides slowly began to turn. At this point I have more good days than bad ones, but there are still days when my symptoms flare up. 3 months is very early in the process, so just hang in there. I think what was so disappointing for me at first was that I thought my body would bounce back right away, and I so desperately wanted to go back to my pre-implant self. You'll go through a roller coaster of emotions for a while, and that's normal, but know that most of us do improve over time. I was born with an impaired immune system, and I honestly feel that if I can get better with my weak immune system, there's hope for just about anyone. Sis > > April, > Poor thing. I can relate. I've been 2 1/2 years post explant, and I do still struggle, though I'm so much better. > > Have you had your hormones tested? The endocrine system can really get messed up by this implant illness. Mine certainly did. My cortisol and testosterone levels are low. I take adreanal extract and herbs that help the adrenals, and when I stop taking them I really feel it. I am going to see a practitioner next week who specializes in bio-identical hormones-- I'll report to the group any progress. > > It takes time, like taking baby steps, but you will see improvement. If you keep a journal you'll be able to see how you are getting better, day by day. I used to put a number and a face on my calendar every day, and when I look back to the first months after explant, the faces were all sad and the numbers very low. These days the faces are semi-smiley on most days and the numbers in the upper 1/3. Not great, but certainly not devastated either. Sometimes I have a flare, and they go down to 4-ish, with a straight line for a mouth. But then there are those days when I am doing so well I forget to put anything down-- I'm too busy! > > Here's to turning up the corners of your mouth~ > Bindi >
