Guest guest
I do know that Medicare has paid for girls explants.... The only Dr. I know of to get that done is Dr. Kolb in Atlanta Georgia.... You have to get the doctor to fight for this by saying the implants are making you sick or you are in pain, in both breast... Dr. Kolb can do this but she has to do your explant in the Hospital, not in her surgical office... Maybe someone else knows of other doctors who fight for medicare to pay the cost???? Guest guest
HI all, I'm going to my initial consultation this week for explant - and am wondering if any of you had Medicare when you got your explant surgery - and if they paid for it. And if Med. paid for it - how did you make that happen? I haven't even approached Medicare yet, wanted to get more info first. Thank you for any information! Guest guest
I have Medicare and could not find a doctor in their network that would explant. I was told by Dr Kolb's office Medicare would not pay for the surgery, they did cover my office visits with her. I had to pay 3,000 for my explant and 7,250 to have the capsules removed later. Good Luck HI all, > I'm going to my initial consultation this week for explant - and am > wondering if any of you had Medicare when you got your explant surgery > - and if they paid for it. Guest guest
Please note there is a difference between Medicare and Medicaid . . . . They have very different rules.Rogene
Guest guest
Well I know one girl who got medicare to pay.... Her explant was with Dr. Kolb... It has to be medically necessity, requested by a doctor. If it was medicaid then it has to be in your state... ~Get trade secrets for amazing burgers. Watch "Cooking with Tyler Florence" on AOL Food. Guest guest
Thank you for the responses - I guess I'll see if my primary dr. will write a note that it's medically necessary, and give it to Dr. Melmed - who said that he would attempt to collect Medicare for the procedure, after it's done. We are paying first, then going to try to get reimbursed. Thank you again! Alyssa
