Guest guest
Oh Krista, Grrrr, I am upset with you about this kind of treatment by doctors. I didn't expect much based on my own experiences, (as you already knew), so I am not surprised that it went this way, but it still makes me upset for you all the same. I gave up on endocrinologists and most other doctors! Now you can see why.....I honestly can do without the aggravation! I do better taking care of myself! His answers for your situation were totally lame. I wish he could be told how pathetic his doctoring was. So, what next? Are you going to see a naturopathic doctor and go with alternative routes the rest of the way? Or keep looking for someone new in the MD field? Allopathic medicine has it's place. It can help with accident victims, acute infections, and other sudden needs. But when it comes to diseases that require monitoring of various interdependent bodily systems, and delving into possible answers that require--(HELP ME)-- ACTUAL THINKING about the intricacies of the human body, they suck. I hate to be harsh, but geeze, what else can we conclude when they dismiss us so easily? You are not an idiot, Krista, you are a SMART, intelligent and savvy woman who knows how to listen to her body when it is talking and you don't have to learn to live with this, as that doctor suggested. He is clueless. There are answers for you, and you will just have to keep turning over all the stones we've discovered that may be on our healing path. Don't give up! I believe God has the answer for you! Patty > > Well....I saw the endocrinologist today. What a waste of time! You > all are right about that...they are basically worthless! Guest guest
Dede- Yes, you definitely got a laugh out of me. Honestly, I was " over it " by the time I left his office. He's just not worth getting upset over. He seemed like he didn't want to help you unless you had a diagnosed endocrine disorder, he wasn't interested in helping me figure out IF it was an endocrine problem. Every time I asked a question, he had a snide and rude answer. I feel like writing to Kaiser and telling them that one of their doctor's is an a-hole! Oh, and yes he was short, bald, old and ugly! LOL! I will let you know when that test comes back. Yeah, I think it was the one you mentioned. XO, Krista > > Krista ~ > > Ya, I know that experience ! ! Guest guest
Thanks Patty- Yeah, I am learning the same lessons as you did a long time ago! Live and learn! I've been seeing an ND since December. She seems very helpful. She has me on a bunch of supplements, that I've been taking for about 7 months. She is currently on maternity leave, but I can still get the supplements from her. I'm just going to keep going that route (with the ND.) I got tired of waiting, feeling fatigued, not seeing a lot of changes, which is why I decided to go the MD route again...but I am giving up on them. I am just going to continue doing what I am doing...eating well, getting plenty of rest, etc. I'm sure I will start to feel better in time...but it takes so much time! It gets frustrating! I hear ya on the allopathic medicine....it seems like they only look at ONE system at a time, like if it is heart related you go see a cardiologist, if it is digestion related you go see a gastrologist, etc. But, if you have issues in multiple systems of the body they have no idea how to help you, nor do they seem to want to help you! I don't get it! We need some doctors out there who are willing to look at ALL systems of the body and HELP us find some answers. WHY those don't exist....I have no clue! Thanks for the support and encouragement....I'll keep truckin along. XO, Krista > > > > Well....I saw the endocrinologist today. What a waste of time! Guest guest
Hey Krista, I just want to mention one thing about the supplements, which I found true for me again recently. If you are taking alot of supplements, I would suggest perhaps cutting back on them for awhile, or taking only one or two at a time and see if you notice anything different. I used to take handfuls of supplements at one time, thinking I was doing my body good. But the truth was, my body could not handle them. When I cut the supplements OUT, I felt better. I had been doing so good that I thought I should kick it into high gear on my supplements again and start taking them all to help get rid of my stash. So, I was back at taking handfuls again for a few days. Big mistake. I just felt awful. Brain fog came back...shocked me! I found out that I can only handle a few supplements at one time, and so I've just given up on covering all the bases, and just take a few when the urge hits. I am not saying that everyone should do as I do, but in an effort to uncover some of the answers along the way of our healing journey, this may be one of the things you need to take a look at. It's odd how we can think we are doing something good for our body (like green juices!) and find out that it is actually making us feel worse. If you take a break from your supplements for awhile, let me know if you notice anything. Take care! Patty > > > > > > Well....I saw the endocrinologist today. What a waste of time! Guest guest
Krista ~ Ya know, if we dont report bad behavior of physicians, then they will never be deciplined, and can go on to treat others badly. I personally feel that type behavior is definately a breech of his hippocratic oath " First do no harm " Talking down to, not listening, lack of compassion, and rudness is all mentally harmful ! It is the first signs of a doctor showing ... MALPRACTICE...MUCH can be missed. Behavior like this can make a patient shut down. First and foremost, we are going to a doctor to LISTEN then to examine, and test if necessary. Then to diagnose and treat. I am so sick of doctors thinking they are Gods, overcharging people for their incompetence, a bad doctor can ruin the lives of people that put their trust in them. Many people never realize that they are sick by doctor, and not by illness. It is time that doctors be brought down a few levels and back to earth level and humanity. I cant wait to see what test this doctor actually did on you and what the results are. I hope you are having a good day today ! Love Dede **************Get fantasy football with free live scoring. Guest guest
Hi Patty- I totally understand what you are saying. If I eat too many vegetables in one day....I feel sick! LOL! How funny is that?! I actually did cut down on the supplements a few months ago. They were starting to make me feel sick to my stomach. My ND said it would be fine to cut them in half, which I did and felt much better. I'm really not on that many supplements. Just a vitamin pack a day(there are 5 vitamins in there,) 1 pill a day for liver detox and support, 2 pills a day for the adrenals (though I may cut that out,) and one pill a week that is a " homeopathic remedy. " So, it's really not that much...compared to what others are taking. I really try to not take a bunch of stuff just to take it, I like to have a reason why I am taking something. I feel pretty good about what I am taking right now. I'll keep that in mind though and if I don't start to feel better, maybe I'll cut them out for a few days and see if it changes anything. Thanks for the ideas! I love all the support! XO, Krista > > > > > > > > Well....I saw the endocrinologist today. Guest guest
Krista, What a dolt. I hate arrogant backward doctors. What would he say about how sick you were with implants? That it was just "stress and aging" at the ripe old age of twenty-nine? I'm curious to see what your cortisol test shows, though it is much better to test at four intervals throughout the day. Interestingly, when I first started out on the wild road of implant illness, my extremely high cortisol levels were the only tests that came out wacky-- but nobody made the connection. The doc just said I was stressed. It might be worth your while to have your sex hormones tested on your own. You can learn a lot without even going to the doctor. I forget-- did you do a full hormone test already? I take a ****load of supplements and I have been leery about the quantity and the cost. When i went to the woman I work with now for the first time, I told her I believed I could get most of my nutrients from food. She said, No you can't, your body is in a chronic oxidative state and is not absorbing nutrients properly and needs extra of some. So I am trusting her judgment. I would definitely not give up on fish oil, cal/mag and vit D, sublingual B12, alpha lipoic acid, CoQ10, vit. C and a good multi. These are all nutrients that can be low in people with chronic illnesses. xo Bindi
Guest guest
Bindi- I didn't even bring up the fact that I believe I am this sick from breast implants. I think he would have laughed out loud in my face. I've learned (from all of you) just to keep my mouth shut about that. Yeah, the fact that he said I am THIS fatigued from age is beyond me. I said " well, I knew I'd lose SOME enegery as I aged, but I didn't know I'd lose THIS much energy at my age. " He had no response to that. I haven't done the full hormone testing. I was hoping this dumb doctor would do it, but that was a no go..he saw " no reason to. " I can probably have it done through my ND, but I am going to wait a few months until she is back from materinity leave. Then I'll look into again if I'm not feeling better. Do you think the sublingual B12 has been helpful? I've been throwing around the idea of trying it, since everyone recommends it for energy and mental clarity (which I need a lot of help with.) Well, the one thing I have to be thankful for is that MOST of my symptoms are gone since explant....I no longer have the constant achiness throughout my body, the excrutiating pain on my left side, the nausea...I'm still dealing with bad fatigue and some brain fog, but at least I can live with those. Oh! I got that book yesterday " the canary and chronic fatigue, " it's a big ol book so it will take me awhile to read, but I'll let you know what I think. XO, Krista > > Krista, > What a dolt. Guest guest
Krista, Yes, please let us know what you think of that book. It looks interesting. I don't know if the sublingual B12 is helping me or not, because I started it at the same time as the hormones, and since then I have had a steady improvement. B12 does come up often as one of the nutrients people with chronic illness are often deficient in. Bindi
